This has begun happening to me the last week or so two, takes a few hours for it to correct itself sometimes.

Haven't been able to post the last few days via Chrome App on my phone - the post box at the bottom of pages has been completely blank - worked via the Samsung Internet app and is now back working correctly on Chrome, weird
 
Why is this site so fragile? Goes down with `An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later.` pretty regularly.

Because you visit the forum at the kind of unsociable hour when my scripts take the db down for daily backups.

Live in civilised society (and don't work night shifts) and it'll be fine ;)

Thanks for the explanation. Will happily stay here where we get more than 3 hours of sunshine a year though 👍

Just checked the schedule, backups start at 3am, they'll probably last about 10 mins. Once that's complete, the db goes offline for some maintenance stuff and should be back up within another 10-20 mins of that.

There are some ways to take xenforo offline with a cleaner message programmatically but they're not very reliable.
 
So, being new here I've got a couple of questions if I may?
Why do posts require authorisation before they show?
If I request the "adult content", does that mean I can see actual swearing and not have to see the fudged version?

Only, having come from another site and being old, it takes me a while to get used to new things and I do like to swear a bit, especially when it comes to fudging Spurs! 🤣

I think it’s just the first few posts from a new poster that need authorisation.

You can turn off the swear filter. Go to my Account, select Preferences then scroll down and tick the Enable Profanity Contents box.
