I'd much prefer Dembele over Cabaye although I can easily see a scenario where mike Ashley cashes in on either him or tiote with minutes of the transfer window to go. Ashley is that sort of crazy chairman tbh but nah let's just get Dembele .

Just got me dreaming of a team of giants lol... Are there any world class full backs that are pretty tall? I mean do they all just end up getting shifted to CBs when they are growing up? I know Charlie was 6'+ but hardly world class. Can anyone think of any?

Micah Richards? Not WC but competent and fairly accomplished nonetheless.

Unless Arsenal or us were willing to blow his Saudi Sportswashing Machine wages out the water, if I was Cabaye i'd stick around there. Both Arsenal post-RVP and we are in a period of uncertainty whereas Saudi Sportswashing Machine look fairly stable, have a good squad with quality in all positions and get 52K though the turnstiles most weeks.

Many don't consider the word "defend" with Dembele but I actually think defending is one of his strongest parts of his game.

Sergio Ramos, Alexsandar Kolarov, Maicon...

I have always wondered.... We earned around 30 mill for Berbs right? Have we ever truly spent that money? I don't know why, looking back we haven't exactly spent much have we? Especially considering we've been selling other players at the same time

Agree he puts a foot in and has a terrific engine give him time playing in tht centre mid role and he'll be a very accomplished box to box midfielder

We didn't need to, we got Frazier Campbell in!

Some wild rumours today, so many players and proposed deals. Gonna be frantic at WHL, bet Levy has a grin permanently on his face!

Bojan Kirkic heading to AC Milan apparently?

Some seem to be fairly confident of getting Dembele - Is noone concerned a better team could go in for him? He could easily play for a Man Utd....

People seem to think that dembele's weakness is passing but I've looked at the stats and:

Although Modric completed a far higher number of passes:

1440 – Luka Modric completed the most passes in the opponents half.
2215 – Luka Modric and Ashley Williams completed the most passes.

Dembele's had a higher pass completion rate last season:

In the 2011-12 season there were only six midfielders who passed the ball better than Fulham’s Moussa Dembélé. Using the new Top Stats engine we’re able to quickly trim away the fat and look at those players who played at least 1400′ in the Premier League a season ago. Of those, Dembélé was the 12th best player in the Premier League when it came to pass accuracy,*attempting 1681 passes in 2940′ and completing 88.64% of those attempts. Only Leon Britton (93.49%), Joe Allen (91.18%), Samir Nasri (91.01%), Mikel Arteta (90.58%), Yaya Toure (90.49%), Michael Carrick (90.10%) and Scott Parker (89.58%) bested*Dembélé’s passing accuracy from midfield. *In addition to his proficient ball movement, he was a creative force from the centre of Fulham’s midfield creating 51 chances in 2940′.

Didn't we spunk half of it on Pav?

And then the Robbie Keane money went on, um, Robbie Keane.

The rest? Signing Pascal 'Shimbomba' back three times? ;-)

Off topic but I looked up Maldini to see how tall he was lol and he's 6'1. but I also saw this...

Style of play
Maldini was primarily known for his positioning as a defender rather than his tackling. He made an average of one tackle every two games and positioned himself well so as to avoid making that tackle

Amazing when you think about it.. Similar to Ledley I guess

What's also amazing is that Dembele it seems is also trying to make things happen etc.. whereas (bit of an assumption) you could say the Swansea players were more about deliberate possession than making risky creative passes that Dembele would attempt.
