It's odd that people are describing Richy's output as poor, he's almost one G / A every other game whilst mainly playing on the wing carrying an injury which required surgery.

If you factor in his whole time at Spurs granted it won't be pretty stats wise but this season he's brought a lot outside of direct goal involvements as well, even if some don't want to acknowledge it. I guess many on here would also label Jesus as useless because he doesn't bang in 30 goals a season but that's another thing which is to be expected, best not mention the honours he's won or the 4 goals in 5 in the CL this season..........

Interesting to see if Richy stays central tonight, whether it's something that'll change throughout the game or perhaps depending on what kind of opponent we're up against. It's usually a decent atmosphere at the City ground and I don't think he'll be bothered, no doubt the guy will just want to build upon his brace last time out.
 
Richy is rising to meet the occasion. In this case, it's our need of a goal scorer and ardent scurrier. A+ grade for him on both counts since coming back after his groin surgery. His success is only going to open up opportunities for other players - Son, Kulu, Johnson, Lo Celso - to have more room for scoring opportunities.
 
I missed parts of the game and don'thave the full picture, but from what I saw he was fairly quiet apart from the goal. It was a very well taken goal though, lovely run and of course a top, top cross, but Richie was there and he scored. That's his first time scoring in two consecutive games for us. Let's make it three against his old club.

One thing I noticed that his first touch was much, much better today.

Took some very awkward balls neatly and recycled possession well. Confidence I guess.

That's a good point. Looks more confident, and the goal today will build that confidence even more.

Richie seems like the kind of guy who could be prone to over thinking, which increased confidence -> being more relaxed will prevent.
 
While Richarlison wasn't front and centre with the ball at his feet, he was busy. Made some good runs that concerned the Forest defenders which opened up space for other players. His usual busy, lively self on the press. I'll take what he delivered today in every game he plays.

I noticed in Richy's celebrations against Saudi Sportswashing Machine he just seemed a bit more "Yeah I scored that's what I'm meant to do" rather than ripping the shirt off and going ape brick. Passion is great but sometimes a cooler head / mentality can be better. I wonder if he's had work with any kind of dedicated sports psychologist after opening up about his struggles.

Who knows whether it was pent up frustration about things not going his way or possibly the pain / discomfort of the injury but he does look more sure of himself / confident as you say. Long may this nice little era of Richarlison continue, we sure as fudge need him with Son guaranteed to be away for a while but even before that, Veliz doesn't look ready for starts whilst Gill hasn't really looked the level required either so it only takes something like Johnson's incident tonight and we look short up top.
 
He played better today.
He was noticeably hobbling when he came on the pitch after the game; favouring his right leg and leaning to take pressure off his left.
 
Earned himself en extra 4 months at spurs for me, but we still need another body up top to help out. Toney will be too pricey, Giminez will be out of reach, to maybe as a stopgap we loan in Jota, if so, make it Jan 2nd and not 22nd
 
So Richarlson kicks the ball in to the crowd in celebration after the second goal, no booking (rightly). Just shows what a nonsense decision it was by the ref the other week to book him. I’ve seen numerous players do it before and since and it’s never a yellow card.

He didn't actually get booked in the City game. I thought he had, as did many others., but he wasn't.

I think the striker role in this system is less of a "network" role and more of a stretch the play and be a threat to give others the chance to network.

Been reports about Ange's Celtic side, we've seen it here with Son and Richarlison. The striker isn't that much involved in all round play.

If we're looking for an upgrade I would be more concerned with pace, finishing perhaps some physicality rather than networking.

Richarlison looks on his way back to his best. We haven't seen his best yet for us. We haven't seen how good his best is in a functional big team playing good football.

His finishing will probably remain average at best so I'm not expecting him to become a superstar, but he could still be a really good player for us.
 
A striker than can finish and link play is always going to be more useful than one who can finish to the same level but just adds physicality. Pace isi agree important, we want a striker that can run with the ball and in behind.
 
I have to ask. Is Richarlison stupid. Kulu scores. He picks up the ball and boots it in the crowd again. I can see a situation where he is on a yellow and gets a second and sent off.
