Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Anyone curious about his tactics?
Yeah, I’m curious at how he’s managed to transform the team so quickly. 6 months after finishing 8th, one of the worst seasons in modern history and suddenly we’re disappointed that we’re not in a title race? Extremely curious as to how he’s pulled that off with half of the squad out for the last 6 weeks.

Agreed, i am curious about those tactics.

Bang on time.

The ones who think they ate better then other people for debating a topic on A MESSAGE BOARD. It is so tiring people like you and also pretty thick.

This is a forum where people discuss things. No one is calling for him to be sacked in anything, just debating tactics.

Why don't you go through the match thread and accuse everyone in their of bring fickle if the complained that the keeper should have kicked it or the striker should have aimed it more centrally.

Honestly the posters like you are the worst most boring ones on this site. You must have a really pathetic life if you come in here to shut down debate all the time.

Well I don't bow down to people like you and will continue to debate and discuss my team in a reasonable manner.

Disappointed not to be in a title race? Who said that?

I find the passing out from the back and the crosses into the box when we have son in there odd. I love how he tells players to attack and to play without fear.

I'm curious that I have seen more then one player come out and say that he dies not give much instructions except to go out and enjoy playing, noble sentiments but I would like a bit more as well.

If you think that’s the extent of his work then I think you should get more curious about his tactics and setup.

Disappointed not to be in a title race: that’s the overall mood around the club now. 5 games ago we were undefeated, top of the league and top of the world. We’ve come crashing back down to earth a bit but the taste we got has made our collective fanbase a bit impatient. In June, July, August and September we all knew this was going to take a lot longer than 15 games. Stay the course and Ange will bring us success.

I'd like more fit players and your precocity for perversion. Both will take time...

Surprised to see Lo Celso getting hooked is fickle ? Odd.
The are a lot on here who consider it a badge of honour to never question anything. Not unusual amongst football fans to blindly follow their team.

I have never really been like that. In my personal and working life no matter what I did I always self identified weakness to improve myself. I was always against religion and never voted for the same political party more then once in succession. I'm happy to investigate and question what I see.

I'm curious about our tactics, I'm not curious about the posters who aren't curious about them, because I have them worked out pretty quickly.

Anyone curious about his tactics?
Have said it a few weeks ago and will say it again. Anyone thinking he’ll get us challenging for the league is deluding themselves. Won’t happen this season, won’t happen ever. To be honest, I’m not sure there is a manager who can get us challenging for the league under ENIC.

Ange will be entertaining, he’ll get us top 6 or top 4 and that, to me, is success for where we are. The fella is brilliant but he has some glaring deficiencies.

I’m hoping he can also win us a cup…. If we can beat Burnley and start getting our players back then I think it could happen this year in the FA Cup, especially as I think we’ll go out and try to win every game and not merely try not to lose them.

I do think that’s a possibility. On any given day, I think we could beat any side. When we look back on Ange, whenever his reign ends, I think he’ll have been a cross of Venables and BMJ. Good manager for us, got us playing at a decent level but we will never be consistent enough to really trouble the big boys.

Nope your not allowed to say he has deficiencies, your not a true fan. I'm reporting you, off you trot.

I think your really reacting way too early for that
Look at our points vs the big boys already
His teams are consistent
We are consistent already
What we are is wasteful
That’s what needs fixing and it is doable with some windows

Maybe, maybe not,

Obviously, we are wasteful albeit, tonight, I just saw the highlights and we weren’t really. We had the Richy chance but other than that it was the Zouma swipe at the ball and Lo Celso firing one down the throat of the keeper. Other than that, we didn’t create much. Against Wolves, we created nada.

We’re shipping goals. 13 in 5 games. That’s not good. Take out Chelsea given the exceptional, albeit self inflicted, circumstances and it’s 9 in 8. You can justifiably point to injuries but I’m not convinced it’s solely down to personnel.

Ange has had a total of 20 matches in charge. 4 of those pre-season, 5 of those with a load of injuries and suspensions, 1 where he rotated too much v Fulham. So 10 games with his 'first team' -- and you know what happened in those 10 games.

Improvement will come. We need to be patient as a collective fanbase.

The seasons start has muddied waters IMO.

What was true in pre season is still true for me now, I would 100% take a season of growing pain to progress next. Just because we were top after 10 games doesn't mean we were winning a title or even challenging this year, if people genuingly thought that then that's on them IMO.

On the match thread a poster, I forget who, said those with more legs and can create are more likely to stay on, GLC was flagging late on hence he was taken off. To me he seems to change players when they're dropping in performance, and shift players around to exploit spaces going forward. But he has brought on PEH and Skipp when more defensive work needs to be done. V wet spam we were just wasteful in front of goal, that's when we miss H Kane the most.

I don't know why you're so quick to make such a definitive statement on where we can go tbh - the negatives currently, as i see them, mostly boil down to a lack of quality beyond the first XI and a front line that hasn't really settled post-Kane, as far as tactics and approach go i can barely find a negative straw to clutch at.

Wrt backing from the club we just need to continue at the same standard we have been at over the last 2-3 seasons.

2 different things
What we can see already is a huge change in how we play which will, with the right players leads to us doing even better
Last night another example
To say he can’t do big things after seeing what he has done already is just daft imo

If when ange was appointed we would have been told that after 16 games we were three points behind city, challenging for top four, had an unbeaten run of 10 games, and out of the top teams only been beaten by Chelsea (under mad circumstances) all while playing really good football we would all be creaming ourselves.
Yes we are on a bad run, but there are reasons for it, those reasons are temporary, things will improve.
It's frustrating but when we get back to even close to full strength we are more than capable of going on another long unbeaten run.
