Which player would you like to see take over from Luka Modric?

I'm amazed that people think we're about to blow £20m on a CF!! I think our remaining tranfer activity will be limited to:

- signing Ade
- selling Modric/buying a replacement (possibly)
- an out of the blue loan CF

Unfortunately most people seem to be playing fantasy football - just cant see it myself. We have a stadium to finance at the moment and having cash in the bank and an unlevered balance sheet is essential in convincing lenders to stump up the cash. Maybe, in a couple years we'll be signing players for £20m+ but cant see it in the meantime. Hope I'm wrong though

Adrian can play upfront and do so alone if need be. How do you know he'll never play 2 CFs btw?

Number of reports quoted the above price for Llorente - he is not exactly a super-star in the Falcao / Aguero mould, remember. You can google it if you wish

Your personal preference towards Sturridge doesn't take away from the fact he would (if available) improve our squad

He's valued at 17-19m, do you have a source for this or am I to take that as gospel? The whole debate regarding playing upfront on his own was surely implied when you gave a list of alternatives to Ade? We all know we're not going to be playing two centre forwards so that's the only logical conclusion. I'd be in favour of signing Adrian, but as a right forward who can occasionally play off Ade(or whoever we sign as our main CF), but not as the central striker himself. As for Sturridge, he has some good qualities and some bad qualities, there are better players out there. Call me gay but I also like seeing us sign players I like, Sturridge comes across as an arrogant dingdonghead, perfectly suited to his current club I would say.

but your an ade hater though, who would you like us to sign?

It's long overdue, mate, especially if Levy is to match his big words at last. If you want quality goods - can't pay Tesco prices

You can't have quality signings for 5m

Of course they are - no one is disputing that. It's the suggestion he has transformed into some magical playmaker maestro who could replace Modric in an instant which I cannot understand. Modric is a poor-man's Pirlo in number of ways. Now imagine Dembele as that player - simply not the same mould, mate

imo we wont find another Modric, a player that can do exactly what he does. So, we have to look for a central midfielder that can perform as a playmaker, but also have the tenacity to tackle, and provide some goals and assists if possible. Dembele is a candidate, and an affordable one

Remember when Alan Smith had a few good games at defensive CM for Fergie? Didn't really go so well after that did it. That is how I feel about Dembele. Not enough evidence to show he can play at CM for a club of our stature, I would rather have T Hudd tbh and I am not even a big fan of his

That player is Moutinho, my friend - closest in terms of player for player vs. affordability. He's also prettier.

Ok, so that's 3 of us so far.

/waits for Rossi to pass on verdict

"I love Madrid. My ultimate goal is to succeed here. I'm a player and a man who does not give up. This is why I'm so hurt by these false reports that the things are in my head and not in my body. I know pain and I know it's real. "

"My relationship with Mourinho is perfect. I'll be honest, he has said, I do not play many games this season and has encouraged me to go temporarily on loan to develop my career and come back an important player."

"For me it is not the ideal solution, but I understand it."

As always, Sahin is not hesitant to the offer his opinions.

"If I'm forced to temporarily leave, England is a league that interests me. I always teams like Manchester, Arsenal and Chelsea have admired. Tottenham are a good team, and Mourinho has told me that Villas Boas is a very good guy. It would be kind of funny when Modric went to Madrid, and I went to London "

"I would not be interested in a team that are not competitive, such as Saudi Sportswashing Machine or Liverpool. When I am gone, I would like to improve as a player and to do that I have play with other quality players, which I do not have at those clubs."

I gave my response to this on the last page. You think Dembele is an AM - good for you, others think he's better suited playing deeper - they're not trolling you, it's just their opinion.

Agree but in my opinion (and, more importantly, probably Levy's as well!) the stadium is far more important than a couple signings this summer.

Good - at least he won't be strengthening the goons. I don't believe we were ever in the running anyway. KingDawson on suicide watch

Rossi - what is your relationship with JJetset, btw? I think we ought to know just in case

a bit closer but still he is not a Modric. If he was Mourinho would be buying him.

Moutinho plays it simple, thats his strength....Modric has more guile in his passing

He's not an out and out striker. He plays behind Falcao in a 4-2-3-1 for Atletico.

Ahhh, not quite as concise as Arcs' smiley reply but of the same ilk. Do you have anything to counter my point or any comparitive suggestions of your own or are you happy to leave it at that? If so then 7 in 35 is making your case for him being a great central striker a tad weaker.

Your point is totally and utterly wrong imo and i'm still of the opinion that you haven't actually seen him play much. Because he sometimes starts or takes up the same position pedro does, it doesn't make them similar players. it's like saying Vidic and Agger are similar players simply because they play in the same position. no scrap that...it's like saying vidic is similar to a player that plays rb/cb because he sometimes plays cb (say Richards).

Pedro and Adrian are totally different. That's why one is trusted to lead the line at times for club and country and the other wouldn't be trusted to lead the line if he was the last footballer on earth.
