***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Brentford OMT***

I find the Royal/Skipp dynamic a bit weird. I like the idea of Royal going inside sometimes, but it feels a bit pointless if he’s always going to go inside and Skipp’s always going to go outside - it’s just recreating the standard dynamic but with both players playing out of position!

Also surprised by how slow and lacklustre we’ve looked in possession as the half’s gone on. Maybe tired, or maybe just taking a while for Ange’s instructions to sink in. Appreciate it’s only 1 game!

Who is this clam of a ref? Handing out yellow cards for everything and nothing! The one Sanchez got before their 2nd goal is shocking! Not even a free kick. Sanchez is first, and then the Brentford guy comes from behind and runs over his legs and trips.
Absolute never ever a yellow card, let alone a free kick.

So we are capable of scoring goals with the way we play now Kane has left? Wow, I'm shocked....

I don't think we can bank on Royal scoring a long ranger every game and with the other being from a set piece i wouldn't get too confident off of that 45 tbh

Well its certainly not going to be boring, TBH I did not see the Spurs of pre season there at all, so maybe as much a positive as negative as we know its in there somewhere.

I think the key is and was part of appointing Ange is that this team will learn on the job rather than it being an all out change from the start. From that respect it looks like early Celtic, they need to know their roles better, but that comes with time.

The midfield are going to have to know their roles better, no good only being good in possession, they have to at least track to the edge of the box as extra bodies.

Skip is in the wrong place. He's meant to be an #8 but not as wide as he is.

Good game. I thought the penalty was soft. Skipp, Madison, Son need to play their roles better. Royal and Udogie, wow!! Possibility for improvement, Skipp and Madison replaced.

The point is with the way we play we get more bodies in the box and the goals will be shared around. Royal isn't playing as an authentic RB for starters so he will get more than the one goal he got last season....

The Brentford manager, Frank is canny denying us space with a low block.

The way we play now, anyone can score.

But yeah, still finding our way, we aint clicking yet, when we do - it's going to be awesome

I love passion but I think when the new manager’s subbed you you should do what you’re told and not throw a public tizzy. Grown up is precisely what it wasn’t.
I think Ange it's actually going to appreciate that more than being annoyed at Romero. Showed proper passion.

Kulu/Richy really disappointing so far

I would take off Richy, play Son through the middle and bring on Solomon
I think Son has been disappointing. He is not making runs in and seems to be getting in Udogie's way. Madison and him need to actually be more adventurous.

I enjoyed that first half. We are scarily open at the back, as expected, but the positive, offensive play suits us well. There will be fristrating moments, probably lots of them, but it's great to see Spurs in an entertaining game again.

Bissouma looks on fire, and you can see what Maddison brings - I'm expecting much more from Son and Kulu in particular, though. Also Richarlison hasn't been much involved. And Vicario looks nervous.

Still - tough away game against an established team who plays well both offensively and defensively. First PL game for Ange and his new boys. Even then, lots of positives from the first 56 minutes.
