Harry Kane MBE

It seems very desperate for the lad just to win a couple of trophies, i feel he is making a mistake. He stays with us for a season, can grab another 20-25 goals then move to City for free in the summer, win the prem, compete for the champions league and also break the record.
Agree. I think he’ll turn them down and wait until next summer.

fudge me there is some desperate straw clutching going o here ..... "2nd Tier" league, tin pot trophies,

Get over yourselves.

The club goes on. We are top 10 without him, not relegation candidates and gosh, we may extend our trophy-less drought by yet another year (which we may have done if we kept him).

We were bang average before Kane, we can survive being better than bang average after him.

After all he has contributed I just wish him well, wherever.

We were top 6 before him if I recall correctly. That isn't bang average. Apart from that I agree with your post.

You really think Levy has nothing to do with it? You really think that Levy had not had his hand in the sales and replacements of players ?
He might have his hand in the fees and wages etc budget wise. He will have nothing to do with choosing which players we are going for.

Folks have convinced themselves that winning trophies is a bad thing lol And making it out that it isn't a big thing to go an actually massive club like Bayern Munich.

Obviously still nothing confirmed but I will be happy to see him smash it over there whilst we can move in a direction that actually suits Ange's style of play.

Why build the team around someone who doesn't excell at what Ange wants if he was going to leave for free in a season anyways?

Fair enough, but we weren't really challenging. If anything it makes my point even better.

We can be pushing for the edges of Champions League/EL and life goes on.

No just no he sits on the table where they discuss players and additions needed ... you may want to believe that the managers that have worked under Levy have wanted to sell the players and accept the dross brought at the last minute to replace the likes of berbatov etc

You really think that Levy says you can't have player x, I want player y because I think he is better??? The only reason that he gets involved is because of costs.
Managers would have wanted Messi (exaggeration), doesn't mean they are going to get him.

If we're talking crazy amounts here, I'm not sure I'd want Kane to stay unless he signs a contract extension.

Even one year extra with a release clause for next summer is better than knowing he's likely to walk for nothing.

No I don't think either know actually, but the only fact is that the chairman is the common denominator and has recently even admitted that he is restructuring the club to move away from transfers. I actually go by quotes from previous managers that have clearly said that the chairman has discussed transfers in regards to players and then offered them cheap alternatives.

As in the likes of AVB wanting Hulk that was out of our ability to get and players that were available we could get were suggested?
Where do you think the cheaper alternatives come from? Levy or the scouting and recruitment dept?

This is good all round as we finally have clarity

we can take the money and move on
Kane can stay and sign a new deal
Kane can stay and confirm he wants to leave on a free at the end of the season

the club had to make some calls on this as it was dragging on and unfair on ange

From the clubs perspective it is the first two options.

From Kane's camp, the last option is attractive of course. Get to see where we go with Postecoglou, cash in at the end. But was the Donetsk and Barca friendly 'proof of concept'? That Kane could bag 4 goals a game? Quite possibly. The people involved are no different to us fans, they react to the last performance too.

Also in Kane's mind is he doing right by 'his club'. As guessed/anticipated a month or two ago, the most likely outcome is Kane is sold (if Bayern do pony up). But Kane himself can choose to stay with us at any moment, if he signs some kind of contract extension (possibly with a break clause giving him some flexibility next summer).

You can add whoever names that were linked, all up for discussion ... I actually think it's agents, personally in my opinion, that let levy know that certain cheaper of less ability players are available ... you cannot tell me the scouting team and managers have agreed to some of the players that we have signed ... sissoko was a prime example. But we have beaten that poor dead donkey a long slow death ...

If he goes he goes, I didn't think it would be this late in the window which hurts, but as I've said before, he was always going to leave or retire at some point.
