Harry Kane MBE

It wasn't a swap though was it?

It was made clear they were seperate deals so that norwich didn't get any money. But in reality yes it was a swap. Same as the vorm deal all those years ago and numerous others.

Our dof (in part) got banned for a swap that they said wasn't a swap. Melo and pjanic.

Pity he didn't have his wits about him and stayed calm.

I'm not speaking about him specifically, more as a general rule. We can't be waiting for the player to prove themselves, we need to be courageous and scoop players up before they've absolutely confirmed their quality.

The Brighton school of scouting

There would need to be a reason for it. A transfer is complicated enough, adding an extra one in the mix makes it a lot harder.

And the complication is multiplicative i.e. if there's a 10% chance that a transfer happens, then there's a 10% * 10% =1% chance a swap happens. The number of factions which need to be made happy (player, agent, club 1, club 2, any clubs with residual rights etc) just make swap deal exponentially harder

Another RB, no chance
He's actually a CB originally but ended up playing FB due to stiff competition in the centre for France. His good touch and his attacking instincts has seen him subsequently play more games at RB but he was indeed a CB. I'm wondering if he's open to leaving to get games at CB?

Sounds like they might be getting towards an offer which Levy might accept.

Would be a shame to see him go, but at least going abroad would mean he’d be less likely to be playing against us. Really didn’t think that he’d ever move abroad. Always thought it would be another PL team and some fall-out.

If he goes, I’d imagine Levy will get right of first refusal or something to try to ensure that if he comes back to the PL that it’s to Spurs

It’s a good move all round
He will get a couple of league titles and some DVB cups
We get money that can really shape the team in anges mould
The club loses its dependency on a brilliant, brilliant player

If Levy is indeed meeting with bayern today as reported, we might well see links/leaks over the weekend I guess about other attackers to us, and acceleration in the CB situation

I understand why people would mention Jonathan David, but wonder whether we'll aim for the next version of him, so at a lower price level and deliberately so hat Richy is our lead CF this season. Or buy someone who can also play RW

Then spend more of the Kane money at CB

It will give him more satisfaction than if he won nothing.

well yes, but would it give him more satisfaction that being the all-time PL top scorer?

I know people talk of him coming back in 3 years time and getting that record too but that can't be guaranteed

If he leaves then yes. The proof is in the pudding. He'll only go if he thinks that's whats best for him.
