Bopara and Pietersen should be rightly vilified in the analysis, played it completely wrong. If they had just played more sensibly and batted maybe 10 more overs each and we might have got something

They need to watch Bells innings and take notes

Should be tasty at Headingley!!

I've got tickets for the Sunday, if it's cloudy I'm not hopeful of seeing any action!!

On a personal level this is probably the most frustrating season I have ever had!

At the level that we play at most pitches tend to not have covers and although not council pitches, most have their own groundsman, the weather we've had this year has put a stop to most cricket, and also meant that when we have played it has been so stop start, 1 week on 2 weeks off, etc.

As a batsman this has been even more depressing as the pitches have been offering the bowlers so much more. Lots of low scoring games and all the bowlers picking up hatfuls of wickets.

To top it all off this weekend, when the good weather finally came I was attempting a dive to stop the ball, I managed to dislocate my finger, and having spoken to the doctors they have said it will be highly unlikely that I will get another game of cricket before the end of the season.

Ouch.

We've lost so many games to rain this year it was been unreal.

I broke my finger last year, no cricket until my next appointment at the hospital (6 weeks) according to the Dr but I just played anyway, it hurt a bit but did no extra harm.

I do need to get my knee sorted though, it is killing me at the moment and I've never had knee problems before but at the moment it is fine during the week then starts hurting while playing on Sat and by Sunday morning I can't walk.

I've had three weeks rained off in a row, without a single ball being bowled. I'm going to be seriously rusty when I finally get to play again. It's extra annoying as in my last game I hit form and was hoping to taking it into the next game, but by the time that next game comes around the form will have departed I'm sure.

Another frustrating thing is that I captain the Sunday 1st XI, and have been a regular of the Sat 1st XI all season, and both teams stand a very good chance of promotion.

I'm captain of our Academy side, it's me plus 10 kids playing in senior cricket against other teams 1st XI and the odd 2ndXI, often very difficult, or it was last season as we got relegated.

Top of the league at the moment so promotion is on the cards and we are in the T20 Finals day on Sunday.

Fair play, I hope that the weather stays good, and you get promotion and do well in the T20

Might not be playing... had a game tonight.. my knee is fudged, couldn't bat.

Looks like it is the first trip to the docs in about 3 or 4 years tomorrow, can hardly walk, I'm not even registered with a GP up here, still registered down in Manchester and I left there in summer 2010.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss buzzing...

Sorted out Ashes tour next year 13/14

Leaving December 18th to Perth, all 5 days of the 1st test, then onto Melbourne for Xmas and the Boxing day test, then onto Sydney for NYE and the 3rd test...

Boooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Barmy Army, Barmy Army, Barmy Army...

1st v 2nd on Sat, we had them 77/8 but let them get up to 161 somehow, knocked them off in the 28th over, 5 down so we are now clear at the top of the league, 7 games to go.

T20 Finals on Sunday, batted first in semi and we posted 180 for 5, opposition were never in it and we won easily.

Blew it in the final though, we got 159 batting first and they were 75/3 off the first 10 and they managed to knock them off in the 19th over, fudged it up big style. The less said about a few other aspects of the day and the behaviour of the league Chairman the better, needless to say a letter of complaint will be going to the league and the cricket board.

You are in for a treat - Ashes is the highlight of the sporting (4 year) calender for me out here. Last Ashes Boxing Day at the MCG will be hard to beat, Adelaide wasn't bad either. The banter is hilarious mainly because the Aussies (including the players) can't take it.

Message me nearer the time - I'll definitely be around in Melbourne.

So at 262 for 5 I would say it's honors even. Important that we get them all out for less than 400 if we're going to win this test.

You have to love the Western Terrace..

David Lloyd said he saw a banana and a security guard carrying out a telly tubby who had passed out hahaha

and the most likeable guy in cricket Graeme Smith hobbling off with a messed up ankle, gutted for him

This SA bowling attack is good, likely to get runs but they also tend to bleed extras all over the place.

If they could cut that out it would make it so much harder. Extras is probably around an average of 40 an innings from them, compared to about 15 an innings from the English bowlers..
