***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Liverpool***

Thing is the manager has come out and said we're not starting games like that by design. Dunno if I believe that, if so what is wrong with the players? Can only play without pressure?

Stop blaming the referees. Saudi Sportswashing Outfit and now Liverpool at home.

We're not fking good enough.
They play a part. We sometimes have to win despite them. And this one was inconsistent. To my eyes, no difference between the two Trent pushes on Sess. Other than one would have been a pen.

It’s what they do. Odious clams.

We were brilliant. No idea how we lost that game. Kulu outstanding when he came on. Bentancur magnificent again. Lenglet I thought was very good. We deserved a lot more. That wasn’t like the other games we lost this season.

If only we played as well in the first half of matches as we do in the second half.

Manager needs to quickly realise that we’re a FAR better team playing on the front foot. We don’t have good enough centre backs to play back foot football. Was so evident today in that first half looking at team shape…. Liverpool have 2 centre backs split with full backs high up the pitch when on the ball. We have 3 centre backs all deep with wing backs far deeper than Liverpool’s full backs. We have the players for high energy, front foot football but don’t play it until we’re chasing the game.

To be fair we played on the front foot and conceded 2. We were pushing high up the pitch, but our back line was exposed. Pool got 3 or so chances to score. Just need to keep working on that way of playing, as its the way forward.

At this rate we're shoe-ins for top 4.
Look at who's due to come back. One or two decent signings in january and we are sitting pretty
I dont rate Liverpool's chances or Chelsea's for that matter from what I've seen today.
I think City and unfortunately the goons are shoe-ins.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine look very likely to get a place so that leaves one spot and I think it's between us and Utd who didn't look great today either.

We really are cursed against this lot. Even though I thought the ref was pretty bad we can only blame our defence for losing this. We just cant keep doing it, we gifted Saudi Sportswashing Machine 2 goals and have done it again today. It is so frustrating. And can anyone tell me how Emerson gets a game above Doherty or even Spence? And Sess needs dropping just has not got the brain to ever get to the next level. It will be interesting to see what team Conte puts out in midweek

Even great managers can have blindspots. I have not won the title but I know Royale is a very poor right wingback.
For sure. But my reply was to a specific comment. Conte is the best we have ever hired at the time of hiring. So I trust him to make his decisions. And we are still 4th and topped our CL group.

But Liverpool are struggling atm. Not won away all season I believe and we still contrived to lose. Albeit an appalling ref. Our mentality is still not right.

There are no prizes for being the best loser.

I thought we played very well for a "half and a half", which is better that usual. On another day and with another referee, we would have crushed them. So many times I thought "just push him" in the second half, why not, the ref's said it's totally withing the rules to push an attacker when trailing. Mindblowing. And it's not even the leniency that angers me, it's the inconsistency. This would never happen at Anfield.

The team played their arses off, and Liverpool were extremely lucky to even get something out of it, let alone 3 points. Kulusevski needed 30 seconds to prove how important he is to the team. The way we made them lose possession in the second half is just the way other teams do it to us. Let's play like this for the entire game from now on, and we will get top 4.

I have faith in Conte generally, but not with regards to his continual playing of that clown Royale. He is so poor, that I refuse to believe that he is better than Spence simply based on what I saw of the him in the Championship.

Really??? Of course it's by design. It's all about the line and press, we step out 15 yards and press from the front in the 2nd half.

We cannot give good teams 2-goal leads and expect to get anything out of games.

Four timed we've done it in four games in the PL. And we have lost 3.

This lot of single-digit IQ brainiacs don't get that, sadly.

As for the other points -
  • Sess is going to go down as one of the most cowardly players I've seen st Spurs. Everything is in his locker to be good - pace, technique, physicality. But zero backbone. Shame.
  • Conte throwing Lucas on at 88' to finally go 3-4-3 was an amazing moment - he had Lucas, Kulu and Bryan on the bench today, and even when seeing how much of an impact Kulu had, he waits another half an hour before throwing Lucas on. Bloody baffling.
  • Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Emerson Royal. One bombscare, one utterly mediocre clogger, and the only Brazilian on the planet who cannot kick a ball.
  • Kulu, Bentancur and Biss had good games today.
In the end, I can take solace that these second halves are showing what the team can do when they go handbrake off - in time, when we throw the likes of Dier, Davies and Royal out of the club, we will be more like second half Spurs and less like first half Spurs. In time, it will come - I can see the patterns here.

Just have to suffer through those three until we get there.

It wasn't just on Dier. We had loads of good chances to equalise that we didn't take. Throw in a bent ref as well that denied us a stonewall pen, about 10-15 frees and forgot he is allowed book Liverpool players.

It was entirely on Dier. Missed chances happen every game and every team will have them, but playing a brainless bombscare? That's on us.

Exactly this and when the defence is rubbish you are doubling down for trouble. Those slow pedestrian, passive, negative whatever you wanna call them starts are absolutely killing us currently

We were passive chalk & cheese first and second half
