Ours were up front payments (as long as we could raise the money by flogging someone) but barca have been allowed by wolves to do loan with option/obligation because the eventual promised fee is much higher

Think Trippier, but with a tonne of pace. It was the Inzaghi to Sarri managerial/system change that has put him out in the cold.

It's simple really - Jorge Mendes pockets about 120% of the fee, so hence...

Protection racket is how you'd describe it in any other business.

The agent pockets the fee whoever the buyer is, are you saying that barca are paying a bigger agent fee than we are.

I'm saying Mendes told them to pay £35m, making sure he got a bigger take than he would from matching our £23m. And in exchange he'll place Dembele somewhere for them for an overinflated fee and throw in an exciting prospect called Gedson.
 
Will be interesting to see how he gets on. And whether Barca will take up the signing in the summer. Traore is so inconsistent, he could be world-beating, blinding or just blindingly awful. It depends on his role, the coach, and frankly his mood. There are signs that he could be a massive weapon. And plenty of signs that he won't deliver end product, lacks tracking back and aweness etc. Probably with a few months to convince, he should be motivated at least.
 
My preference for RWB would be Mazraoui Dest or Frimpong. All far better than Traoré and two of them should be easier with Traoré joining Barca.
