Arsenal have agreed a fee for Caen striker M’Baye Niang. Emirates Marketing Project and Milan are in talks. We've offered him a trial.

@preospurs @Jakdee Lloris is too expensive and so it Mout! can see these ones dragging on.

Interesting.

So, when all is said and done, the deal could be worth between €45-€47m (£35.3m-£36.9m) and profit of between £18.8 and £20.4m. That's not bad business that.

But I can't say I'm a great fan of the idea of spunking €40m on Moutinho; just because we could afford it doesn't mean we should go ahead and do it. I don't think he's worth anywhere near €40m.

I know Modric does a certain job, but selling a player who does a job doesn't mean that you ergo have to go out and get some like-for-like replacement. There's nothing stopping AVB from changing the team dynamic so that it's not so wholly reliant on this one player, like Modric, to dictate the tempo of our play.

Sky Sports @SkySports

Sky Sports understands Saudi Sportswashing Machine have tabled a 4million euros (£3.15million) offer for FC Twente defender Douglas

In all fairness, Moutinho isn't a like-for-like...agree, it's a lot of money, but I'm a believer in the "if the manager believes he's the man, then he's the man"...we wouldn't lose money on the deal and he'd still be young enough to sell on if he did tank with us...

I am not happy spending 40m on a midfielder - maybe a striker. I would happily splash out 40m on Falcao or someone of that calibre. Then again I will be honest - I think we could and should have enough money for both maybe around the 60m mark? I dont know.

Buying both would definitely put the cats amongst the pidgeons and would also put me on the centre circle at half time naked and tossing off as the players enter ont he pitch for the second half

BackPage. @BackPage

Reports suggest that Man United have now bid €41M for Sao Paulo attacker Lucas Moura

For this reason alone I hope we get Moutinho (if he's who AVB really wants), Adebayor and Sturridge!!!!!!!!!
:D

For all you know levy and avb wants to keep Mods, and these dragged out discussions are meant to show him they tried. A ploy.

Anyone heard we are after young Brighton player Grant Hall? We watched him last year and apparently he played in our friendly last night?

I wouldn't go that far.

People who whine persistently and repetitively about ITK are certainly tedious and attention seeking. Calling them scum is a bit much.

If your not whining then scum doesnt apply to you, so dont worry about it.

He didn't think he was "the man" while in charge at Chelsea though, did he?

The last official valuation - in Aug 11 - of Moutinho put his 'worth' as being €17.775m; €6.775m (+62%) up from his last transfer fee of €11m in July 2010. If you apply the same increase, then he's only worth €28.779m - not €40m.

€40m is a LOT of money Steff. If he flopped in England, then who's seriously going to pay €40m to buy him back? No-one; in fact I'd say we'd be lucky to recoup €20m. For the money being quoted, I seriously wouldn't touch Moutinho with a ten-foot bargepole.

Was only a matter of time:

Daily Mail reporting that AVB wants Hulk at #THFC and has been allowed to initiate talks for the player who will command 100k per week wages

Only seen him play a few times and im still not convinced about him. Seems a bit overrated imo

It's a big investment for sure. One I wouldn't be happy about spending so much on. But I think perhaps we look at it costing us 15m because that's how much we paid when we took a punt on Luka. That paid off which enabled us to compete for Moutinho who is in a similar stage to what Luka is in his career.
From a business perspective I can see sense in finding a new "Luka" who is an exciting young prospect but they don't come around too often. I think moutinho would do great here, but of course no one can guarantee that right now

Joe Lewis is sucking this club dry.
We are going to end up with a (minus) net spent or a positive net spend of about £5-£15million.

Serious investment for CL? flimflam from Lewis.

When has Lewis ever promised any investment? And when has he ever taken moeny out of the club?

Net spend of £5-15 million is more than most clubs in the league.
