January Transfer Thread - it couldn't open and close any quicker

The top coaches can. Rose and Dembele were in similar hopeless positions when Poch arrived. Conte has form too (Moses, Lukaku)
Possible and let's hope that is the case but I wonder how it works creativity wise in a 352. Dele stills seems like a player who doesn't really fit.

Largely though I think the squad needs rebalancing whomever the manager is and some players are just going to have to go to get that process started.

Maybe Damsgaard instead of Eriksen?

Window of something like Bastoni, Damsgaard and Vlahovic?

I think I read Conte can sometimes use a deeper lying playmaker in his CM trio, but then with a presser further up (so kind of reversing those two positions). So Alli in front of Ndombele and Hojberg say, which would suit Alli perfectly

We don't have that many to sell, our squad is reasonably trim now (24 senior players). Doherty, Davies and Carter-Vickers are the only 3 of them I don't think anyone would dispute should never play another game for us. I know lots are in the Winks and Alli camps too, but I think a new coach would want to at least look at them. All 5 of those are homegrown(ish) though and only Alli will be on offputting wages.
I think especially Alli, can have a vital role under Conte, and start shining again.

Hoping you're right. I love the guy, but I'm starting to think it's going to need a little miracle to get him back on his feet. Conte might just be the one.

I think Dele (along with Moura) is the player might likely to NOT fit into Conte's system...
The only way I could see Moura fitting in is if he converts to a RWB but can't see him having the discipline to do that.

Conte played 3-5-2 at Inter, but 3-4-3 at Chelsea. Personally I think our squad could suit 3-4-3, and that it’s Dele’s ideal formation (we played it a fair bit in his and our best season, 16/17).

Which role in a 3-4-3? I dont see it all personally

Surely he's just Son's cover/competition as the second forward?
He's not really a second forward. If Dele got his act together (and no, I don't expect him to) he'd be a better option there.
If he uses 3-4-3 like @elltrev mentioned then Moura is a better fit on the right of the front three.

One of the front three. I think It’s where he had some of the most success for us in 16/17. And to me it seems his perfect role - can play at no.10, but alongside another no.10 so he’s not bearing the whole creative burden (as he’s more of a goal scorer than creator).

When he was great for us he was playing as the second or third most attacking player in the team - ever since then he’s been playing as the fourth or fifth for some reason.

The problem with Dele whenever the idea of him playing in the front three is where does he play? He's not going to take Son's left hand berth, nor is he going to take the centre striker position. That leaves the right hand side but considering he has no use of his left foot at all and isn't a dribbler I can't see how he fits.

Yeah I know what you mean. Personally I’ve wondered if those three could work in a very fluid front three, given that Kane drops deep more now and Son’s good with his left foot too. Think their movement could cause havoc. Rather than each having a rigid position when in possession.

Moura is very versatile. He's exactly the kind of player every manager loves. He makes no fuss, and works his socks off.
Moura will have no problems. I could see Conte using him as wingback in a 3-5-2. If he plays with 3 up front, he'll play there.

But he cant play without Eriksen apparently.

Not saying its related or tangible, but he got Victor Moses doing exactly that, and i think Lucas has more ability and ability than Moses
