'A misconception that Conte is a defensive manager'

Is Antonio Conte the man to deliver the attacking football that Tottenham fans demand?

"One of the biggest misconceptions about Antonio Conte is that he plays defensive boring football, that's just not true," Nima Tavallaey as told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Conte's a guy who is defensively solid and sound but his Juventus and Inter sides played some very attractive football. Inter scored over 100 goals two seasons in a row in all competitions under him.

"He's very organised, he's a system manager, he's wants things his way and when it works it is beautiful. The way that he won the Serie A title last season with Inter, from February to May, was some of most beautiful football that I think I've seen Inter play in my lifetime.

"They mopped the floor with every single team in Serie A by playing a very organised style of play and they scored for fun."

Dont let the lazy narrative or facts cloud your mind, he is boring, a psycho and defensive.

Didn't his Chelsea side also have a lot of records for goals scored, shots etc in a PL season recently until City just beat it.

No I am just deaf to all of that, my mind has been made up before he was even linked, he is not the nice fluffy guy that i would like managing the current powder puff girls. They need love, affection and forgiveness.

Winks and Dele getting text messages right now from an Italian number thanking them for the seasono and telling them not to bother showing up tomorrow.

Tubby furiously Googling 'can you lose 15 pounds and gain 2m of pace in one day of cardio?'.

On the other hand, Doherty and Davies are probably thrilled given Conte's penchant for turning bang-average wing backs into world beaters, so if it does happen (big if), it balances out. :p

*Sigh* Don't think it will be the players who have anything to fear from Conte. It will be Levy if he doesn't support him. Really hoped we would be signing a longer term manager. I think this match up will end in tears. Plus will there be a difference in style to the 2 Portuguese managers? Don't see it myself so probably see us continue to kick the can down the road. Hope I am wrong.

I personally think Levy has to stick or twist and if Conte gets sacked due to not being backed then there cannot never ever ever be any question about Levys stupidity involving matters on the pitch.

This. I think he is more suited to a more open style of play.

Where he simply cannot do a thing without Eriksen? What team plays a style to carry Dele Alli? He has all the attributes to be one hell of a player ... he just doesnt seem to be able to adapt to anything outside of the way he would like to play. He has forgotten how to burst into the box, pass the ball effectively, and shoot.
