Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

It's the one you and your wife suspected you suffered from yourself. It's throughout page 1 of the Health Thread you started in order to tell us about your symptoms.

https://www.glory-glory.co.uk/community/threads/does-anyone-suffer-from-mental-illness-on-here.8716/

Which as I went on to say later in the thread were proven to be Parkinson's. The was and is a change in the brains of people with neurological diseases, it shows up in post mortems. Will show up in mine when the time comes.

The is a big difference between that and the Asperger's nonsense which according to the NHS website symptoms include social awkwardness and not maintaining eye contact.

It is a made up disease to excuse bad behaviour. But according to a poster further up not following the crowd is a sign of Asperger's so this is going to mess with you. Because I know it is fake, which must mean it is a sign I have it and not the far more serious neurological disease I have been diagnosed with. So as clearly a sufferer from this terrible affliction of this completely made up disease any disputing my thoughts are actually clearly a hate crime.

Now where are my extra benefits?

:)

Tell you what, why don't you give us a list of all the made up mental health conditions so as we have it for reference?

OCD
Asperger's

They are both as real as religion.

Mental health and good mental health, learning to control your stress and emotions are a good thing and are things that could do with being taught as part of a broader education. But lets not pretend they are a disease, because they really aint.

I sat next to a guy in the old white hart lane who would not stop twitching is leg, this was back when Graham was our manager. I told him to fcuking pack it in one game and his mate told me he has some leg syndrome thing. Well I last my cool with the numpty and what would you know he went 60 minutes without twitching once, I know because I made a big point of staring at his leg and not the football. The are real diseases, I now I caught one and the are the people on the scam or people like saint Greta who have been raised by people with very poor parental skills.

I could not disagree more.
We'd best leave it there.

Here you go, do some reading.

I don't doubt you're right when you generally suggest that 'back in your/our day, you'd be cuffed around the head and told to get on with it'...sadly, that approach is why we have so many fudged up people out there.

Page does not load, I will try when I get home later.

Thing is everyone in my Parkinsons support group in Brighton holds the same view as me. We view other people with neurological finessed as brothers. People with cancer are our cousins and while the are a few genuine Bipolar people out there. The is a whole swarm of people hiding behind new labels because they do not want to do the hard work of improving and controlling their personality defects.

So it loaded, poor communication skills and clumsiness.

So I married one of these people then. No not talking about the first wife she was just a cnut.

Where are my extra benefits for having a spouse with a disease or illness or whatever you guys call it.

I don't know @thfcsteff you are one of my favourite posters on here and an all round or alround good guy but I think we have to as you said agree to disagree.

One part of me, maybe the aspergers part thinks the real point of this particular debate is how me and my friends in the parkinsons support group feel about different illnesses. The ones we see as genuine and worthy of compassion and the ones that are not.

Labour has to stand for the interests of the global elite and big business, against the interests of working people and communities?

If they are being outflanked on the left by the Tories, moving to the right isn't a very clever thing to do. They'd be better pushing even further left on popular issues such as renationalisation and curbing the power of multinationals.

No you support things like small businesses. Criticise Tory spending waste - creating tax rises for nothing. Plus own renationalisation of the railways. You don't want the party who privatised the railways involved in roostering it up twice.

But whatever Labour do, they need to make more of a thing about it. They need to be publicity-hungry. They get limited exposure. While our PM is on first name terms with the nation.

Not sure that resource is that up to date. Most refer to Autism as a Condition now. ASC rather than ASD. Autism exists @Danishfurniturelover what would you diagnose that Stephen Wiltshire as having, the one from the video?

The fascinating thing about autism is it is a part of 'neuro typical' people too. Where do you draw the line when someone is disabled by the condition? I don't know, its hard to say. @Danishfurniturelover if you want cannon fodder ADHD is far more open for debate. Some don't believe it's a disorder and is probably worthy of vitriol.

I am not sure why you are so hung up on the ‘extra benefits’ angle of all this.
If you are suggesting there some systemic abuse, then from workers comp all the way through any ‘system’ there are a few freeloaders. Sadly that is society. There are always a few.

It seems like your perspective is generated both from a very personal perspective relative to your situation, and therefore is one I could not (and should not) pass any comment on, as I could not understand it fully. I will say there is a scale of judgement (and apparent anger) in there which I don’t understand.

Yes, let’s agree to disagree mate.

Stephen Wiltshire looks like a genuine or very very talented person. Or are you going to say anyone who excels at something suddenly has a condition.

Don't even get me started on ADHD utter rubbish for people with poor diets who have not had enough exercise.

ME is another one, lazy buggers who do not want to get out of bed.

We can, and will, agree to disagree, but as long as you're spouting what I consider to be unsupported gonad*s, I feel a duty to say as much. You're challenging an awful lot of people with these statements, I am sure some here will be offended. I am not personally, I just think this sort of opinion-dressed-as-fact is as dangerous as several other 'theories' circulating the globe right now.

So yes, I agree to disagree, but see absolutely no reason to allow such further comments to go unchallenged. In fact, I'd feel it was shirking a responsibility.

Unless your intention is to continue to get a rise out of people, or worse continue offending some, let's just end the conversation in the knowledge everyone is very clear on your personal beliefs regarding these things.

Deal?

I usually love your posts, but as someone who works with plenty of SEN kids, you are spouting utter - and completely uninformed - gonad*s on this.

In fact, I haven’t read such ill-informed opinion since I last dropped in to see what the amateur epidemiologists were posting in the Coronavirus thread. :D

I don't agree with much of what you've said on the last couple of pages, but you're bang on about ME.
