Next Manager?

We’re a bit of a hard sell at the moment to be fair…. Need a bit of a rebuild but no money to do it with as well as a chairman who has a history of not getting the ins and outs his manager wants. 6th/7th biggest wage bill but a history of the chairman sacking you for a par (or even better than par) finish. Our job is not for the faint hearted*

*Note that I’m talking in general terms here as I’ve no idea whether we’re interested in Potter specifically.

A harder sell than Everton and Palace? I think not.

Obviously, this 'story' is to fill newspaper pages and provide spurious ammunition for the haters.

Nah surely they have quotes from Potter and other managers saying why they “don’t” want to join Spurs
I mean we even had gattuso via text message describe the Spurs situation and him joining (the latter bit was rarely quoted in the headlines) as a mess… now why that came up in a presser for the Italian national side I’ll never know.

However in the end both poch and mourinho left in failure.
IMO, the only manager that would turn us down, is one with a better offer. Levy has proved with Poch that a manager will be given time if successful, and a challenge for the league or CL is feasible. He also showed that he's prepared to pay £15m/yr with Mourinho. Post stadium, pre-covid he also spent £200m on players. One of the best stadia and training facilities in the world, and some top top players.
But no, because some idiots (fans and journos) have lost their brick, we're struggling to attract a manager!

Our chairman has proved that if you constantly overachieve you will be given time. If you hit par you'll probably be sacked.

Guess the key is what is viewed as par as TBF differs form person to person
Key must be what is agreed with levy formally as the target

No disrespect to Potter, as I think he is a good manager and would do well for us, but if this were to be true and he really didnt have any interest in joining us then its pretty damning for where we are as a club. That said, I'm not sure I believe this

If it is true it’s pretty damming on him too. He’s at Brighton, previously Swansea and Osterund, he’s done very little in the game, to be offered a crack at a club that’s been regularly in the CL in recent years is a massive step up.

Not everyone that is coming from his managerial background would be confident taking on a big club, he might not want it because he is feels he is not on that level yet.

Was just thinking how it's probable a Premier League team will have a female manager in the next decade.

For PR purposes (and slight trolling purposes) we should start linking ourselves to some female managers, the media then couldn't criticise us :)

Might instead be waiting for a Leister type club if Rodgers leaves? I’m surprised that Everton haven’t gone in for him to be fair.

Yeah Leicester or Everton would be a good move for him.

I could actually see him eventually getting sacked by Brighton, then going to Everton.

So over two months down the line, with pre-season just about to start, we’re still waiting because...?
Levy wants to get it right. He's being just as meticulous as he is with everything else. And he's trying to appease the fans like he normally does.

She better be black and lesbian, otherwise Levy's dropped another clanger.

I think the target has always been the same one. Finish in the top 4. Those who have done so have typically survived those who haven't or don't look to be finishing in those positions get sacked. Harry obviously even got sacked despite finishing 4th for other reasons of course but still.

Yeah I agree
Maybe it’s achievable sometimes and other times it’s not

A black disabled one parent lesbian would be ideal.

Are you living in a levy love bubble? The last thing he has been in choosing managerial appointments is meticulous. He usually goes for a shiny toy.
