Next Manager?

Further to this, I'm told Pirlo is heading to London in the morning.

... and Lopetegui has rejected us too.

Great another season of finance-first football transfers which necessitates more time for the manager/coach to find and train his best first-eleven.

48 hours?

I know it's been done before, but:

Origi scored a CL final goal that sealed victory

Cheeky bid?
I think you are missing the point. If your first 11 are knackered you need options off the bench where there is a quality drop from your first team but still enough quality to turn the tide in one off games or to play earlier rounds so your first team do not run themselves into the ground, which is incidentally how both Origi and Batshuayi were used as well as all the "dross" at United who won 2 trophies . The evidence is there! Better resourced clubs win trophies. It is not a controversial point. It is practically unheard of for teams, outside of the top tier, to qualify for the Champs League and win a trophy in the same season. They simply don't have the squad depth. That is nothing to do with DNA. Especially as players and managers from Spurs have shown themselves capable of winning trophies elsewhere.

First paragraph is correct, but typically other leagues have one or two rich sides whereas we have four here in the PL - I'm sure you can appreciate the difference in overturning one or two teams vs what we are tasked with.

Regarding being poor, depends when you are refering to and what you judge as being poor - post stadium build i agree we are not poor in relation to Liverpool & Chelsea (2 of the 4 richest clubs) i believe we have a similar turnover to both (excluding CL money) but prior to that we were comparatively poor in relation to 4 or 5 other clubs

All agreeable, and actually we had seen that when we were in the CL we made more money than Chelsea and Liverpool I believe but I may be wrong. Anyway onwards and upwards.

I hope him and the new DOF are strong enough to do the required off loading.

A large chunk of this squad don’t deserve another chance

Or maybe they need to be strong enough not listen to the din and judge everyone afresh with their own eyes. If Poch had sacked off all the 'obvious deadwood' in 2014, Dembele and Rose would have been babies in the bathwater.

Doherty and Hart though I count as exceptions, because they are just proper brick!

A little rich Gutterboy, you banned yourself at the first second when Mourinho came in. Was he afforded a genuine "afresh"? Coz these players are not worth another season wasting time to see if they can come good.

But Mourinho has been an anti-football bully for 20 years. Alli, Dier, Winks have track records of performing well at the top level, before tactics (bypassing midfield and the low block) and confidence destroyed them in the past two seasons. There could easily be a resurrection, especially for Alli

When we last won the league we were the richest club I believe
So even with a wage cup we could outspend people
We historically have set British transfer records and spent money
We’re no where near that now and that’s exactly where we are
