Next Manager?

The most important signing we can make at this juncture is a Director of Football.

I agree. So bring Paul Mitchell back - Poch didn't mind working with him, as I recall, and he only left because he was tired of Levy interfering with his work.

Bring Paul Mitchell back, banish Steve Hitchen to whatever employment agency he came from, get Levy to butt out of the football side completely, and let's get back to where we were - and maybe more. :)

Thought Mitchell was moved on because he was getting (or wanted a cut) of the transfers?
I heard that rumour on here though so probably bull brick!

Conte - is he really all that?

Gets to spend a lot, then still moans about 'lack of spending'.
Chelsea, perhaps Roman interfered somewhat in the last year..but at Inter? He's spent oodles and oodles (have you seen how bloated their squad is and how many old ex-PL players there are there, likely on BIG wages?) and still moans about lack of spending.
When they were knocked out meekly from Europe he complained about lack of support, er hello Antonio have you seen your squad and the spending??

I wont get started about his record in Europe.

If the board really have enough money to splurge on Conte i'd rather they spent it on someone who'll be more organic in how he uses, trains and grows the squad and wont blame everyone else for his coaching failings (sound familiar eh?)

It's a no from me on reflection. Rather ZZ, Lopetegui or Poch if they are really going to spend big money

ZZ can do one, overrated manager who needs Ronaldo to make him look good.

Jose's contract with us was due to finish next summer. Poch signed a contract with PSG for 18 months, which again finishes next summer.

It was all part of a plan...

Or maybe not :)

Much better and organic than Conte.
And didn't need Ronald to win La Liga last year and nearly won it this year. As i say, a much more organic coach than Conte, who can at least get results in Europe (even if he needs Ronaldo to actually win CL)

The only reason Real Madrid have come close to winning the league is because Barca have been so poor, its a 3 team league and Atletico only won it due to Barca bricking the bed.

ZZ is not proven enough to come to the Prem at a club like ours who expect the manager to hit the ground running. Zidane will be one of those managers who alternate between the best teams in a 1 team league I.E Italy, France and Germany.

I know Inter won the league this season but Juve brick the bed. They will go on and win another 5 or 6 leagues in a row.

Mate, I would strongly recommend you watch Madrid play under Zidane outside of CL knockout, hint - they are brick.

People here went on about Spurs looking like they haven't been coached, Madrid looks awful most days under Madrid. Add in the player banishment - they lost the league by two points, and he didn't want Reguilon, Bale, James, Odegaard in the squad, can't tell me that lot wouldn't have got them 2 more points over the course of the season.

He is an ego manager, something of zero value at Spurs ..

Hmm, fair points. Would Conte be any better though? ZZ seems to at least use youth mixed with the older ones he likes.

I'm not being particularly pro-ZZ btw, more that if we're going to splurge i'd rather it be with someone else rather than Conte who'll splurge and then still moan to try and deflect from his failings.

I only want Poch back if Levy is prepared to back him otherwise Poch will never succeed here as we would like. The cynical spurs fan tells me this is just a ploy to keep Kane happy.

- Zidane is a special fit for Madrid because he understood the circus and politics (huge part of Madird), managed the egos of what was then top players (squad is too old now)
- Conte will buy and moan, but he will probably deliver, he's a Jose v2 as other have mentioned, just before the downhill part of career
- Poch is Poch, we know what we get, the question mark about the ceiling remains
