Next Manager?

- He would not be a long term appointment, do we really want another 24 month manager?

Most managers are 24-36 month appointments. Two or three years time would be the perfect time for Poch to return and take us to the promised land.

Yep, call me gullible but I believe this link. According to La Stampa we’re in competition with Real Madrid so unfortunately we probably know how this will turn out.
As an aside, Simone Inzaghi to Inter if Conte does leave.

Allegri also in talks with Real apparently.

Apparently they are selling Lukaku because they are skint and think they can get 75m for him. No wonder Conte wants out. It's sad when teams like them and Lille manage to win the league then have to lose everyone and start again due to finances.

*Not that I rate Lukaku in any way

this is the reality of the world and why people should think just a moment when they go after Levy for focusing on the business

the football is what we want, but without the business support, even success will be followed by implosion or vultures picking the team apart.

Seriously, how anyone can watch this and not want him back is beyond me.

All the talk of mistakes that he may have made, the poor league form at the end...any manager would have to learn, any manager would come with a degree of risk, there's no certainty Poch Mk2 would work out, but my GHod what he did for this club is utterly insane. THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL. The entire club united.

Thats because your a Real Spurs Fan..

I have no doubt Poch can do it again for us, but it would mean a massive change from Levy in his backing and transfer strategy ... otherwise, it will end in tears as usual with Danny.

Is Conte going to rebuild a team or go in to one and give them the final push? His track record would suggest the latter so unsure if he's the right man

It's keeping us on the Mourinho low block/long ball path though. If we want to prepare the ground for Poch's glorious return, we need the interim to be a passing/high press type of coach.

This is particularly important with player recruitment. A low block CB like if we'd got Skriniar last year would have been a disaster when we switched back to a more progressive high line

Agree, he won’t and shouldn’t be out next coach - all parties need a bit more breathing space. Also I don’t think we will be reaping the fruition of our increased income from stadium etc for a good couple of years yet, our finances aren’t in great shape - would be nice if when Poch does return he has real funds to play with....

I agree, but i am optimistic that he knows how to get a team together and work, thats half the battle, the other half would be a massive compromise from Levy and supporting him to rebuild a team. Every man and his dog, hopefully including Levy knows this.

Otherwise if we are thinking a few players here and there it will take a lot more than one manager appointment.

You could say whoever we get it will end in tears..it is a dificult one...the big mistakes Poch made was bringing Sissoko
here..he simply had no end product!
The big mistake Levy made was not buying a class player or 2 the season we got to the Champions League Final. Infact we bought bugger all players LOL.

Poch has consistently distanced himself from the Sissoko signing, in the same way Jose did with Bergwijn.

Lopetegui seems a lot more likely than Conte

I would just like to point out all our x managers from other London football clubs have been a disaster!

That includes Graham who ridiculously sold Ginola. Ginola playing a big part getting us to the final!

Which of the managers we've been linked with would likely get the best out of Bergwijn?
I honestly think he has the potential to be world class and (eventually) much better than Son...
