Harry Kane MBE

Well we've 'consistently been in Europe' over the last decade too. I didn't say they are Mickey Mouse, but if you honestly think Real Madrid to Chelsea to Man Utd to Spurs then to Roma are the job appointments of a man who isn't on a downward spiral, i can't say anything more to you.

Face facts: Jose is a busted flush. If he wasn't, he would have waited until the summer when one or two bigger jobs than Roma would perhaps be available. He knows his own reality now and no amount of old stats that you can bring up change the reality of the current Jose.

Ok, why is Mourinho a busted flush? All I see is a manager who is only second to Alex furguson an guardiola... why do you consider him a busted flush? Im going by his track record, I wish we had a busted flush as a manager.

He is a serial winner .. except at spurs.

So basically he is a busted flush because he took a job at an established club like Roma? OK mate

I think that was the beginning of him putting pressure on the club to strike while the iron was hot, given the ridiculous overachievement he had given us. Take away his words and look at his actions - turning down Real. He loved this club and wanted to build something.

For whatever reason, they stopped trusting him and I’ll never understand it. The spirit and culture he built was our competitive advantage. Selling Walker allowed us to maintain it. Keeping Eriksen and Rose hanging around the club long after it was clear they wanted out started our decline IMO. We went from decisively selling a bad apple and getting a good return on the deal, to letting negativity fester. That was the worst thing about Derp
Both players were kept here because Poch didn’t know how to help get them out the door
Danny Rose was literally so far up his arse he could smell the lemons every day
And Poch tried to keep eriksen with a publicised dinner in Denmark. He thought he could persuade him to stay (that was him doing his job)

I've said it before, I think Poch got too close to some of them, he wasn't prepared to cut someone off the way he had with Adebayor and Kaboul, as soon as the players realised the "you get paid to train" stuff wasn't real anymore the pressure was off and performances dropped.

He is a Spurs fan so it will be a massive wrench for him. So, understandable if just he wanted the chance to say goodbye. I don't believe the announcement affected our performance that much, if at all. My guess is all the players knew already he was on his way.

We lost today mainly because of Reggie's howlers, but the overall performance was not untypical of what we've been serving up for most of the season.

The way we are playing speaks of chronically poor coaching. Panic defending, wimpishness in the tackle, consistently sloppy passing.

So it's not just about bringing in new players, we need a dynamic manager to come in and drill the whole squad until they drop.
You blaming poor coaching for these players' performance? I am laughing my arse off.

He’ll probably do ok at whatever next club he joins with a half reasonable chairman

I think Eriksen only wanted to leave after the end of the summer 2018 transfer window tbh. He gave a video interview after that 5-4 Leicester game that got us third in 2018 and said "see you next season" in a way that he was looking forward to being with us for that season and beyond. When he saw that we hadn't strengthened he felt, hang on this club isn't really ambitious and i'm not going to tie myself here further.

Rose, had a blabbamouth and yeah, not dealing with him decisively might certainly have been an issue, but then again, he was often referred to as Poch's lost son so i'm not sure blame for not getting him out could be aimed at Levy.

It's not so easy for a club like us to just drop and sell an asset at the drop of a hat. Only a Emirates Marketing Project or Man Utd can do that and maybe that's where some divergence of vision came into being between Poch and Levy/ENIC...

It was always pretty clear to me: we weren’t competing on finances, we were competing on spirit, system and culture. We lose that, we then go back to batting at par, which is 6th placed finances building a 6th placed squad.

I think we needed to be decisive in getting players out to maintain that spirit at all costs. It is why the Poch era launched well in the first place, getting rid of the bomb squad. 5 years down the line and we arrived at a similar place, a group with poor fundamentals who didn’t want to be here anymore. Poch doesn’t work well in that environment so we let our biggest difference maker go. For these players. Who just did not deserve to be hung on to.

How many trophies has he won in the last 4 years? How many trophies did he win in the 4 years before that? How many in the 4 years before that etc..

I think you'll find a downward spiral.

Roma are as 'established' as us

One thing i will agree on: if he wins a trophy with Roma it will confirm that we are a cursed club...

I love Kane. I don’t want him to leave. We have been so privileged to have a player of his world class calibre come through our ranks and haul us through so much. But I am finding it hard to forgive him for setting off this whole circus right at this point of the season.

He's playing a dangerous game, this drags on, England don't perform at the euros and Harry will get hung out to dry.
He's England captain, he knows how Levy works, he walking right in to it.

Ok, can i ask you to name me exactly who those players were that we should have 'been decisive in getting out'?
Plus are you talking about summer 2018 or summer 2019 that they should have been ejected?

Yep
But what about the rest I’d the players that let him down ...
The ones form the CL final who people were still saying were good enough 6 months ago?

agreed there. I’m not a fan of many of our players right now at all. That they criticised Poch for being too distant and that his sessions were all the same, and then leaked that Jose’s sessions were too boring and they missed Poch...these guys are jokers.

Levy will get bent over as he always does mate. I suspect we’ll get 100m for Kane and the words ‘special relationship’ will get used.
