Kane is the sole player who is irreplaceable. But we have been here before with Bale, Modric etc. The amount of debt Spurs is in 175m from the government which is only a short term loan, if we can get over 160m maybe a little more for Kane, then it would be hard not to take it. Maybe Levy can even get more. Kane is that good. Which other forwards are as consistent? Can create and score as regularly?
But this is his home. He no doubt loves this club, so it wouldn't be so bad staying around for him. Selling a couple of other players would be preferable. But we'll see, it may be that only a few elite clubs that get external funding have money to spend. Which might tie our hands in shifting any other players.

the guys the best player in his position in the world IMO and drags us up to a level

He's contracted to 2024, so, hardly has Spurs over a barrel about who they sell him to.
He also has an ego and an ambition to set domestic goal scoring records. If no one in the PL is forking over an adequate sum for him, Spurs shouldn't sell him, no matter how much moral suasion is applied. I also think Kane's ego will compel him to tough out another season with Spurs if an adequate fee can't be agreed.
The big clubs in Italy and Spain are in real need of his skills, but whether they can afford him is debatable. PSG already have Neymar and Mbappe so I can't see them splashing out huge cash.

The only alternative to us selling him too soon is us keeping him too long.
It's not Jose per se just that the last 2 years have been a continuation of stagnation/regression - if Kane was fully bought in to Mourinho to such an extent that the only way to have kept him here next season was another season with Mourinho in charge then I'd rather be selling and reinvesting tbqh

I was gutted when we lost prime Bale and Modric in his pomp. But you're right no player is bigger than the side and there will be others. But is there another forward in world football who's as good? He's not particularly fast, he doesn't have crazy dribbling skills, his thing is finding the corner of the net like few others, and his attitude and commitment.

Bale is the best player we have ever had, by a considerable distance, he was the best player in the world when we sold him, yet it didn't take long for us to assemble a better team than the one he played in.
Players are all temporary, it's making the right decisions for the long term security of the club that move us forward.

I can't see us splurging the money on 7 signings this time! At least most of Sclub7 had a resale value and we got Eriksen to keep. I wonder how much of this is Kane and how much are the money men around him, not just his agent, but DL and the club's financial situation. You'd think that if Kane was fine staying DL would find a way to scrape together enough money to give the new manager some funds, but things are tight now there is no doubt. Maybe its one of those situations where a number of things align; Kane wouldn't mind trying another setup and club and winning things. Who would want to work at just one place your whole career? And DL and the club are in a position where his transfer would change the financial reality and allow us to reinvest.
But I hope he's not sold of course. He's been a talisman and a true gent. Watching him rise was one of the most sensational things in Spur's recent history. As it dawned on us just how good he was, he fed off his own success, and got better and better. Even this season he's brought new things to his game under Mourinho. The heart of modern Spurs.

Even the clubs that do win things have missteps with managers. Guardiola’s brief when he took the City job, about 20 years ago, was to win the CL, he still hasn’t managed it.

Agree although mbappe is joining real madrid in the summer so psg need someone especially as they let cavani go last summer and icardi has been meh. Haaland is joining real madrid in 2022 and lewandowski will probably stay at bayern as there is no obvious replacement apart from of course kane but bayern wont pay the money required.
Its a shame barca are broke but you never know with them. If Lukaku leaves inter for 100m then they could become an option.
I believe psg are the obvious ones from abroad especially if city get lukaku. Although inter becomes another option if he goes.
And barca could spring a surprise and decide now is the time to sell messi due to his desire to leave coupled with his contract situation.
The money they save just by messi leaving is staggering and add to that a sizeable transfer fee and then barca becomes an option.
