Next Manager?

I really don’t get the drum banging for potter, they have had some awful results this season with an ok squad and have not showed much improvement from last season
It’s basically because with their limited players they have outplayed most sides this season
And the results have come from woeful finishing, not the actual play

See above. United are on course to beat a league record for away wins. Brighton completely outplayed them (after they did the same to Chelsea) and lost (all be it after the final whistle but the right decision)

he has got average players playing better. The question then comes could he get out lesser players playing better to support our better players more? Who knows but I personally rate him highly. It’s not easy creating a team of players who play with versatility and confidence especially when your not getting the results your football deserves
He has also managed overseas. Won a trophy and has managed for twice as long as someone like Nagelsmann so has that experience

He won 2 league titles when moving up through the leagues in Sweden as well, so not just a cup trophy to his name - eventually came runners up in their top league too.

yeah, I watched the United game and most the Brighton games this and last season ,punished for poor finishing.

Brighton’s squad isn’t the 4th worst in the league and they have had some abysmal results - think Sheff United have taken 4 points off them this season

They have a lot of possession without doing much with it, which hasn’t changed in the two seasons he has been there

if you are going for bottom of the table managers that pull off a few good results a season Dyche has been doing it longer with a smaller budget - you wouldn’t go for dyche.

There’s even a growing number of Brighton fans that want a change as they feel they are going backwards.

They have an awful record of winning at home, and struggle against their rivals at the bottom of the table. Plus no real improvement on last season and they are not even safely ensconced in mid table. I am completely baffled as to why anyone would think Potter has made a case to be the manager of Spurs. I would be astonished if he was appointed.

I dislike Rodgers as a person, but he showed great promise at Swansea, did a pretty good job at Liverpool and is doing a great job at Leicester, although I think he will lose the FA cup final.

It would be good to see Potter get the job at whichever club we take our next manager from.

So likely to be a leicester or rbl. Both jobs would be a better way to gage what he can do.

They feel like that about all their managers, despite getting promoted and becoming an established PL side.
That's because the most they have to look forward to each season is a relegation fight. They had that under the last manager they sacked and haven't really progressed under this one. I'd be moaning too.

They must be doing something with it to maintain their Xgs for and against that would mean a much higher league position
And yeah Brighton fans feel their going backwards by actually staying in the league... it’s another careful what you wish for moment
Brighton have an abysmal record vs Sheffield. Not beaten them in 12 games now. Nothing new for them
They have a great record vs us though under Potter winning half their games. What do you judge? Personally I look at how the lesser sides approach their games vs the better sides and Brighton under Potter go toe to toe with all of them. That’s actually rare and kinda unique. It shows confidence and bravery, which are two things we have been lacking lately.

Doesn’t count though as it isn’t the same as taking two very well invested sides in Germany to the level their spending suggested they should
And that’s not saying Nagelsmann isn’t any good but has he actually done anything in the game? I’m yet to see any evidence. His sides have lost big key games which is very sexy

They could be safe with 5 games to go
That’s better than anyone has achieved there isn’t it?
Their GD is also currently -6 which is massive improvement on recent seasons
It’s why their not bottom 3 as they can defend. What they can’t do is take their chances
I don’t think we will got for Potter myself, we will want a name
But I think we miss a trick not looking at managers who coach again (which is where we went right with Poch)
