FT 2-0. A great result for us. Not a brilliant game. Kane led by example. Lucas was everywhere - clear MoM. Defence restricted them to very few chances and deserved their clean sheet. Things are looking up.

...and as our possession starts from the backline...therein lies some of the issue. Better movement ahead of them is of course important, but having a seasoned, steady backline gives confidence to everyone, and demands better movement.

Would you say were good at playing through a press under Poch?

Not when Winks and Sissoko was our central midfield we weren't

@milo Moura

I've been a big critic of Moura, but have to give him credit, he's been the one player that has played consistently well in the last couple of months.

Tanganga and Rodon both did well, hope they get a bit of a run now.

Moura motm. Villa have been disappointing and I think this will be a stay of execution rather than a corner turned. Keep the 2 young lads at the back though. Not convinced that Vincius gives us enough as an option.

I think Lo Celso can partner hojbjerg but Ndombele needs to operate further forward. He can do more for us off the cuff as we are taking too many touches and allow defenders to close / reset.
