Next Manager?

Agreed, but would depend on the timing and other clubs being interested. We can't just pick and choose even outside the absolute elite.

Nagelsaman will be two years into his contract with RB in the summer, might be doable. Buthe's highly rated and might reasonably expect bigger clubs to come in for him in not too long. That's if he would be happy leaving RB at that time for us in the first place.

Ten Hag seems like it would be easier to get over the line.
There is no way Naglesman is leaving RB to come here. Filr that one away as a pipe dream. He has bigger more attractive offers ready in the waiting.

Who and what is the source of this view point or is it just the opinion of Bishop?
Opinion. There's no reason for him to come here. He's very highly rated across the continent and teams with more prestige and money than our own will be looking for a new coach in the next year or two. Barcelona in particular have made their interest known and he has reciprocated that interwst.

At RB he has a nice thing going, decent level of expectation challenging for their league and growing his reputation.

If you take off your Spurs fan glasses theres absolutely no reason he would leave that situation come here at this time.

Edit:

As mentioned above Bayern have also made their interest known.

If I were a manager of some standing I would first try to figure out what sort of club we are.

We are not a check book club, we are not massively wealthy though not poor. Our 2 strikers are fast heading to 30 and the is a massive rebuild of the squad needed but we dont really promote youth.

I'm spurs till I die but could not tell you what we were as a club.

We had a chance to get Naglesman but instead appointed Mourinho. I’m sure something was said about his interest at the time. It’s decisions like that that take can cost the club.

He took the job at RB during the summer before Pochettino got sacked. Had we gotten rid of Pochettino during that summer I think we would have had a chance. I really doubt he would have left RB just a few months after taking over.

I thought you were Brighton....rushes for cover.

Barca appointed Koeman on a short deal to cover until Xavi takes over in the summer.

The Bayern boss just won every trophy possible last season!

Or his squad was just not good enough. Underperforming Eriksen and a midfield pivot of Winks and sissoko.
I think both can be true.

Pochettino's response in the transfer market to the large number of problems was to spend a massive amount of money on players that would need a lot of time to settle in. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Clarke. Now he might have hoped they would settle in quicker, but even if they had it wouldn't have solved our problems at right back, centre back, defensive midfield or a backup for Kane. Nor did they do much to bring in new leaders and spark a change in mentality.

He had a midfield pivot of Winks and Sissoko, and the answer for the short term was... Lo Celso and Ndombele fresh off the contract signing?

At least Mourinho has started solving some of those problems, including solving the problem at left back I assume Sessegnon was signed to sort out. But there are plenty of problems left to solve.

Mourinho is meant to be a results manager - guaranteed success. His football is awful so if he isn't bringing success, or needs more financial backing than we can provide in order to do so or needs years to get there, there isn't much point having him. The clubs image and reputation would be down the toilet if he needs 3 years to solve our problems. He needs to go

I've posted previously as a fact that mourinho is NOT a chequebook manager but has spent money at clubs that ply that model. He was just as successful at inter and Porto where he had limited funds.

Ofcourse any manager that takes over Chelsea or real Madrid its almost a given that they need to spend the money to appease the owners and supporters.

Results manager, "guaranteed success", given the right resources available (squad or transfers). If it takes a bit longer here than it's done elsewhere where his resources have been much greater I can't really fault him for that. Though this current rut can't keep going.

if only it was so simple! But you're correct. I'd like to know why things went to poo after the west ham game.
