OMT *** Tottenham v Brighton

For all the criticism about Poch not being a winner, how the fudge did he get a team that was arguably no better than this one to the Champions League Final.

I was convinced we were destined to win it after escaping from the group with those late goals, the VAR decisions at City. Then our greatest comeback. I would have still thought it was our destiny had we been up against Barcelona and not Liverpool.

During the final I still thought we were going to equalise and win it in Extra-Time.

But saying I also thought our name was on the FA Cup in 1995..and we know how that ended too

Course he is
He gets kicked whatever he says because of who he is
He can’t say what he really thinks can he
Imagine the column inches that would need
He could say that he shoulders some of the blame. He could say he has a striker - Vinicius- who he should have played from the start. He could say he hasn’t done a good enough job getting belief into these players. But that would mean he wouldn’t be the sneering, malignant narcissist that he is.

Jamie Redknapp just said something insightful that I hadn’t thought of. For the first time ever.

Said Jose repeatedly spoke about how good we were for the last 30 mins. Which he did. What happened on 60 mins? Bale came off. Redknapp reckons he’s playing mind games and digging Bale out.

Seems a reasonable theory to me because we were dogbrick in the last 30 mins.

fudge me, when that I’m agreeing with that cretin Redknapp, I’m in a bad place.

Yes, that was an interesting take. And I had exactly the same feeling as you as I found myself thinking Redknapp might be onto something there.

I hadn’t thought that. I just thought the introduction of Lamela and Moura drove us on a bit as those 2 guys always try. He may have it right....but there’s only so many people you can fall out with.

We were better last 30
But the bar was so low
Bale was so pedestrian though he moves faster in a golf course

Pleased that the media are talking about the wheels coming off. Redknapp said 'we've seen this story before with Jose...results getting worse, falling out with players etc etc.

Its the beginning of the end folks!!! We're getting closer to that **** being gone

I was looking at it through the red mist but I didn’t think we were much better in the last 30. We never really looked like scoring and they had one glorious chance and a lot of good attacking positions where a better final ball would have resulted in a second goal. Thought we were puke-inducing for 90 mins.

Oh we were better
Not anywhere near decent
And they were comfortable
It was a disgracefully bad effort all round

Actually really enjoyed that post match stuff. I think JR called it all pretty much as I (and many on here) see it.

Summary if anyone missed it.

1. Why switch from a back 4 with Hojb and Sissoko protecting.
2. Why play Ndom in a CM 2, never been a Jose thing.
3. Why play Sissoko RWB when you have a recently signed RWB on the bench.
4. Identified the fall outs. Aurier, Dele etc.
5. Questioned Jose’s take on last 30 being good. Sees it as direct dig at Bale going off on 60.
6. Said it feels like things are starting to turn sour with the stuff he’s reading/seeing/comments on players etc.

I said before the match given the starting line up if we didn't win I was done with him. In truth I've been done with him for quite a while but haven't wanted to put that negative energy on here I've mainly been trying to focus on the positives but this match was probably sealed the deal. Even if we go on a positive run at this point I don't enjoy the football and positive results all e are not enough to convince me.

Even in the 90s when we were proper brick we tried to play football. Unsuccessfully of course but we tried. Now we don't even try, everything is couched in an overall negative approach.

Why are we playing 5 bloody defenders today and only 2 CMs? Did the result surprise me? No. Did the performance surprise me? fudge no.

This can't carry on.

Agreed. The other thing he said about the squad was that if you fall out with 1 player, then you also lose the support of that players mates. Therefore he's probably got a few people against him already

Which is odd. As he’s such a likable bloke who has never said a bad word about anyone. Even the lady club doctor at Chelsea.

If one positive can come from his ‘reign’ may it be that this is his last job in football.

Sounds like Jose is frustrated about results and blaming it on everyone else, I think there's some truth there in the way we folded against West Ham, Palace, Wolves etc when we were all winning and ended up drawing. Feels like the players didn't have the leadership to get over those results and step up. Feels like we've been here before when we've lost big games and the players feel sorry for themselves for a while and can't respond.

We're all in that same place Deano.
