OMT *** Tottenham v Brighton

Yeah maybe. Hard to know without seeing what goes on in the dressing room / training pitch. To be fair I think at this stage we probably do need an overhaul - move on the manager AND the players who’ve been here too long.
But another overhaul need a manager and we need somehow to shift the brick
That’s the hardest thing of all
Their like rotten apples hanging around

So intrigued to see what Jose has to say. Can’t just blame it on individual mistakes today.

If the players who were dropped/outcast hadn't made mistakes previously they would have been available to help us win today - have you learned nothing from this born winner?

When did Chas & Dave release the 'lucky for Spurs when the year ends in 1' song? I blame that we've been cursed ever since...

He’s trolling us now. They couldn’t do anything because they were sad. I know he has to play the media game but if that’s all he can give us fans to describe that shambles, he’s taking the tinkle.

fudge off Jose.
Course he is
He gets kicked whatever he says because of who he is
He can’t say what he really thinks can he
Imagine the column inches that would need

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport: "We didn't start well. They could have scored immediately when they hit the post.

"In the first half I felt the team was probably too sad with the goal conceded and the situation. There was a lack of energy. In the last 25, 30 minutes they gave everything but of course with some limitations. We couldn't score but at the same time gave them the chance to counter-attack.

"The boys showed great spirit in the second half and the boys showed they are suffering and they tried to fight against that sadness.

"They tried, so I have nothing negative to say about them. I leave the game with a good feeling about my boys because they tried hard in the second half.

"We tried everything but they defended everything, brought on another centre-back, and it was not possible for us to score."

Just jog on Jose
Show some humility and admit you got it wrong. I'd have more respect for him if he did that and not this BS he's come out with

that's the kind of thing I'm talking about, 87 too, it doesn't matter who is in charge or how many wonder players we have, we choke

Will def agree with 87 and many many instances since. 81/82 for me was just a case of burnout, the amount of games we ended up playing just took it's toll, but yes the majority of the time. No matter what side we have we dont seem to take that final step

We have to get rid of the players who aren’t good enough in the head
It’s that simple
Sky are talking about it now
Not enough proper players when the chips are down

Sadly it is not going to happen any time ‘soon’. we will need some considerable time.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport: "We didn't start well, largely because I picked a team and formation which didnt suit the players and with a lot of changes from the last game

"In the first half I felt the team we were rubbish and didnt have any shape. Mind you, we dont train any system or way of playing so I guess it isnt a surprise

"The boys ran about a little bit more in the second half. People tell me that our lack of ability to pass the ball to one another was a major limitation but I'm not sure I really agree. We deliberately don't do any training on attacking shape, passing or opening up a defense and prefer to just whack it long. Its more simple and is what I've relied on during my career

"Some of them tried, but they're increasingly realising that I'm a has-been. Hopefully Levy will pay off my contract soon"

but when he calls out the mistakes they do make he gets vilified for that too

I am now fully bought into the fact that Mourinho is THE problem. Just as Poch was at the end of his time.

I would expect ANY half decent coach to get a better tune out of these players and get rid of the wastrels.

Mourinho watching a different game from the rest of us by his comments.

I never thought I’d say this because it almost broke me at times. I preferred watching us under Tactics Tim than under Jose.

And to say he’s happy with the second half? Jesus wept.

Yes, he needs to go

For all the criticism about Poch not being a winner, how the fudge did he get a team that was arguably no better than this one to the Champions League Final.

Mentioned this a few weeks ago. I remember being at WBA when Sherwood was in charge, and we were woeful, and the chant came out "We want our Tottenham back"

If we had crowds in, you would be hearing over 50000 people singing that now

If only someone at the club was responsible foe the mindset of players. Someone to motivate them. Someone to give them some drive, steel, and pride. Someone who had that as their job would be useful.
