OMT *** Tottenham v Brighton

Every Brighton player looked faster, stronger and fitter than all our players with the possible exception of Bergwijn, who unfortunately has zero goal threat.

I’d sooner play some of the kids than some of these wage thieves

Used to say that about Warrington in RL. One of the reasons I stopped going. I would have quite happily watched 13 local lads from the town, who you know would be playing for the shirt, than some Aussie or Kiwi mercenary who didnt give a toss if the team won or lost because he still got his weekly wage.

0 cups in a year ending in 1. Becuase thats where are mindset is forever, drowning in superstition.

we've never gotten over winning the double, we treated it like closing a book rather than starting a new one

failure is deeply ingrained

@ me with your man of the match nominations.

Don't all rush at once.

I honestly can’t think of anyone I’d nominate. We were awful to a man. Davies made one unbelievable block but treated the ball like fudging kryptonite.

Toby made one outstanding stop but wasn’t good otherwise.

Rodon did brilliantly in a 2 on 1 and didn’t do much wrong but didn’t do much outstanding either.

I genuinely can’t pick anyone worthy of MOTM and that’s not anger or anything. Just no one was anything other than poor.

I think circumstances were different for Poch’s downfall - he’d been here for five years, we’d had two years of backwards momentum, a lack of investment in new players, and couldn’t shift players who didn’t want to be here anymore. Personally I understood why the players were struggling to motivate themselves - we needed change.

And Rodon, Doherty, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Bergwijn and Bale weren’t here under Poch - you can’t lump them all together.
We have to get rid of the players who aren’t good enough in the head
It’s that simple
Sky are talking about it now
Not enough proper players when the chips are down

We are not even getting beaten while being the better team, we are being outplayed by everyone in the league. We look like a Championship team at best. i have had enough and its now the Liverpool game and this game that i turned off at half time.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport: "We didn't start well. They could have scored immediately when they hit the post.

"In the first half I felt the team was probably too sad with the goal conceded and the situation. There was a lack of energy. In the last 25, 30 minutes they gave everything but of course with some limitations. We couldn't score but at the same time gave them the chance to counter-attack.

"The boys showed great spirit in the second half and the boys showed they are suffering and they tried to fight against that sadness.

"They tried, so I have nothing negative to say about them. I leave the game with a good feeling about my boys because they tried hard in the second half.

"We tried everything but they defended everything, brought on another centre-back, and it was not possible for us to score."

Just jog on Jose

They’ve filleted Bergwijn on Sky just there for lack of effort and they are absolutely right. His effort was pathetic.

For those justifying his lack of goals with his work rate, take a look. He should be ashamed of himself tonight. Not the only one mind...

I thought we were good in the early 80s. 81/82 we looked like we were going for the lot, but burned out and just ended up with an FA Cup

No way Levy will sack Mourinho now. He has until the end of the season at the very least. Unless a group of the senior players go to Levy and want him gone. Player power trumps everything now.

I think levy would look at the so called senior players abd make them watch the tape of this game
Then ask them if they are robbing the club

He has been a wage thief for ages now.

that's the kind of thing I'm talking about, 87 too, it doesn't matter who is in charge or how many wonder players we have, we choke

This is part of the problem. Everyone can see that there is plenty negative to say about (some of) the boys. I am not saying he is lying here, but it feels like lying to me - and that is worse. The players are not stupid, they read this tomorrow, and recognize it for what it is. A lie. You cannot build on lies.

He’s trolling us now. They couldn’t do anything because they were sad. I know he has to play the media game but if that’s all he can give us fans to describe that shambles, he’s taking the tinkle.

fudge off Jose.

Yeah maybe. Hard to know without seeing what goes on in the dressing room / training pitch. To be fair I think at this stage we probably do need an overhaul - move on the manager AND the players who’ve been here too long.

but when he calls out the mistakes they do make he gets vilified for that too

I hope he’s bullsh!tt!ing because if he really does believe all that then he’s even more out of touch than I thought.
