OMT Spurs - Fulham

The thing is, we think it’s coming because of our historical Spur si ness, he’s spent his entire time here working on stopping us conceding goals, he clearly trusts himself that one day the lessons are going to stick and we’ll keep a clean sheet.

We’ve spent the last 140 years trying to out attack the opposition and we’ve won effectively fudge all. I can’t believe I’m the only one pleased that we are trying something new.
Losing is nothing new!

It's not going to stick when we have centre backs of the (lack of) calibre of Sanchez and Dier. Our strength is our attacking players. Outscoring Fulham shouldn't be a problem if you're looking to play on the front foot.

If that’s our strength then what the hell was we doing today

Sooner or later he’ll fix them, look at the crap he turned around at Chelsea, Terry, carvalho, Ferreira, all brick before Jose got hold of them

It obviously did however had we actually, you know, done some attacking in the second half rather than sitting back we could have expected to have been 2 or 3 up so their 1 goal on the counter would have been meaningful. Our tactics are simply unacceptable. Sitting back and hanging on to a 1 goal lead is unacceptable

I agree completely with this. Had we bossed the second half and conceded an equaliser, I’d have been annoyed but could at least say the manager had learned from the mistakes of Palace and Wolves and brick happens.

But it was obvious what was happening from 60 mins how the game was going. They were on top. And for me, Jose has abandoned his responsibilities by doing nothing to change it until they scored. We’ve all seen this picture before. Repeatedly of late. It’s beyond comprehension how Jose did nothing to change it. It seems a bit gutless at this point and gutlessness is a trait I never thought I’d associate with Jose Mourinho.

Ahem..... Eriksen?
He’d be mental to come back to this crap

But in seriousness we need to stop this Kane dropping off stuff . Get him back up the top in the box. Maybe it’s ok against City or Liverpool but Fulham ?... Nope .He’s a world class finisher who now spends 88 minutes no where near the box .

We need an Eriksen back or of his type

I’d wager, that if you go through the match thread of every game we’ve won this season, someone at some point is going to say they can see an opposition goal coming, that then didn’t actually happen.

It wasn’t that long ago that we kept 6 clean sheets in a row right?

I'm sick of this defensive approach to games particularly in the 2nd half. We have numerous good attacking players but why have 5 of them on the bench and then play Sissoko as the furthest midfielder forward. Wrong tactics from the start today, if we had had Deli or Lucas playing instead of Sissoko we play the game 20 yards further forward with less risk to our goal.

Why sit back when we know our defenders are limited and switch off?

Why the weird substitutions? Lamela hasn't played for 6 weeks, Surely Deli was the better option. Yes Vinicius scored a hat trick against Marine but Lucas would have been far better and would have stopped Kane dropping deeper..

My son is so frustrated with the last few games that he is not going to watch the Sunday game. I might yet join him

Fulham got the same result against Liverpool four weeks ago.
In that instance they took the lead and Liverpool had to chase a late equaliser.
I expect Liverpool fans are calling for Klopp to be fired.

A huge difference tonight was we played with no wide player on the right
Compare that with Leeds.
The issue is Moura isn’t very good
Lamela is very good
Bale isn’t able to run
So without Bergwein were screwed

oh and from 15 shots you should score more than 1 goal
We played a press (a half press admittedly, but still a press) against Leeds. We didn't press at all against Fulham.

I'm guessing your son is a kid, but this sort of thing might be what makes Levy act. If when fans can return to stadiums attendances fall, then it might force his hand. Atmosphere at games would be awful this season
