Dele Alli

I hope we keep Alli and bin Mourinho.

Mourinho is toxic and whos next on his list?

Let's nothing wrong with selling a player that is not in a managers plans. Mourinho uses it as a weapon.
I think he Mourinho has already upset some big Spurs players with his antics.

Bore off with your over simplified digs about Jose. Who are you going to bring in to replace him?
Merry Christmas

I am behind Jose, he is an experienced manager who delivers trophies, which is at this point in our evolution is what the majority of fans and the board want. We all disagree with selections and managers decisions, based solely on what we witness and interpret in games and what we think would be best for the team. Sometimes those views remain polarised, there was even a debate whether we should cash in on Kane recently.
In the case of Dele, there are not many occasions when I’ve really felt so far away from a manager’s decision, certainly when it comes to not selecting players. Maybe I have developed an unjust tolerance for him giving the ball away because of all the key moments he’s provided, or because when he has the ball I think he’s going to provide one but I genuinely feel that not only does he have to leave for his own benefit, I kind of hope it’s a loan deal so he can prove himself to be the player I still think he is and either return as an option for a new manager (likely to be a younger / more style orientated coach as we tend to go in new directions each chance) if this cycle doesn’t work out or increase his value as even Levy will find it hard to talk big numbers for a player not making the matchday squad of 20. Jose obviously has his reasons and wouldn’t make his own job harder and the whole thing still hasn’t played out, but there doesn’t seem to be any way back from here. Other than a personality clash, it seems to have gone on for too long and been too extreme to be a motivational tactic I’ve and a nagging feeling that Jose sees him as a luxury but also one that could generate cash for strengthening in another are, Dele has always seem committed and a popular member of the group and perhaps this way encourages him to make a move he wasn’t seeking in the summer - back when he was more or less starting games pre injury under the same manager albeit with a weaker squad.

Does anyone have the minute long video where Jose criticizes Aurier for the mindless pelanty against Leicester? Asking for a friend. And I know, I know, he is a master man manager who has always known EXACTLY what sort of actions he can inspire an individual player to improve. Clearly dele will get better by being criticized in this way and I'm a sad man at my keyboard.

Well up until the Leicester gaffe, it felt that Aurier had heeded Mourinho’s public chastisement and gone on to become arguably our best defender this season.

I watched an old interview recently with Fergie talking about Ronaldo and how they always knew he had unbelievable talent, but Ronaldo improved his decision making which was a catalyst to him becoming the player he is now, that and his ruthless single-mindedness. Alli hasn’t improved in this area enough. He doesn’t know when to keep things simple and when to try something extravagant. Decision making is a fundamental component of being a world class footballer or even just a good footballer. Regardless of all the external factors around him, other players being off form, managers not rating him, Alli hasn’t developed like Son has for example. Son is undoubtedly a better footballer than he was 3 years ago. He’s a better finisher, he’s more creative, he’s unselfish when he needs to be. I certainly agree Mourinho is singling him out unfairly and I would like to see him get a run of games but he needs improve his own and quickly.

Yup, hopefully some tough love from the gaffer will help Dele achieve his potential and not become another Lingard...

I was angry at Mourinho's reaction so dug a bit deeper.
Sadly it appears he is beyond frustrated with Dele, and who wouldn't be?
He has laid down some markers for him, and he simply isn't stepping up. It will all spill out eventually I suspect.
Such a huge shame, because I thought he played well the other night, and still think he could be a huge player for us.
But I am sadly going to accept that it won't happen.
For club, and player, PSG with Poch would be best. I do fear however that Paris might not be the best place for him?
What blows me away is that he seems oblivious to the advice and support he has received?
Such a shame...

Maybe he is just a player who needs an arm around the shoulder.

I wonder how he would fare in the PSG dressing room.

I would be very surprised if he was actually substituted simply because he made a mistake and lost possession of the ball. Seems more likely he's not following the instructions he's been given, unlike someone like Moura.

I expect well, by right of being one of their best players, he’s slightly older than Mbappe too.

Hell of a duo to build a team around, they might actually win something.

I think Dele will be snapped up by one of our competitors permanently.

If that’s the case, I’ll wind in my criticism of Jose. I don’t think having a go in public is ever right but sounds like there’s more going on in the background.
