Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Agree Moura's passing can be pathetic but he also chases and harries up top to great effect. That creates chanceto win games.

Where Dele is concerned, no point having talented players that constantly fudge the team up.
Again I’d argue that Moura doesn’t help us win games. In fact I’d argue he does the contrary a lot
I like him actually but his football control is on par with boris Johnson’s I’d say

Dele's performance today doesn't need calling out - you don't bring players in and out of the team and expect a faultless performance. To mske the point of calling out a loss of possession publicly he knows exactly what he's doing and it's not to aid Dele's development

Was the punishment proportionate to the crime? Regardless of any bias, course it wasn't, they scored as much for our back 4 ball watching than the flick.

Is on balance the treatment of Alli in public on a level with others for the same issues? Lamela, Bale and Moura all losing the ball to brain farts, public flogging? No course not.

If the public flogging of Alli is not working maybe its not what he needs for confidence and the love and wiggle room he gives the others needs to be extended to Alli, but Jose has a history of this and he is too far down the line now to admit he is wrong.

He is also well known for loving his first 11 and system and being very harsh on those around the squad not getting time, there was a big issue with it at Chelsea.

Yeh he wins things, but lets not make out he is perfect

Anyway, we have Brentford in the Semi so we should be pushing for the cup, Jose needs to win things regardless of his treatment of Alli, lets see if he can do that

I believe you are underestimating the value of Moura's overall contributions. For sure he can be exasperating but he delivers something Jose prizes very highly right now, that is, incredible effort and commitment. He accepts his shortcomings in the name of matching the competitiveness that opponents consistently show against us.

Which is great because Son and Kane are doing the important bits but when our next highest scorer is on one their contribution is covering a multitude of sins.

And Moura and Alli are totally different players but there is no doubting the shift Alli put in first half with his run behind as the second striker with Kane.

I'm happy to agree that v City/Chelsea/Liverpool etc Moura is a sensible choice given his defensive qualities- against teams where we're supposed to be on the front foot however why are we prefering an attacker with a better defensive game than one with a better attacking game?

It's this outlook that will hold this team back from achieving what it could

Agree wholeheartedly but Jose is fixated on one thing above all else: eradicating Dele's bad habits. The bigger prize is getting him back to where he was a few seasons ago so he can help us WIN trophies rather than sabotage our chances with the kind of sloppiness that led ultimately to Stoke's equalizer.

Agree in principle. I don’t see the need for Bergwijn, Moura or Lamela against the smaller teams as neither of them offer much end product from the attacking side of the game.

Id go for Bale in those games or perhaps Alli at a push.

He is going the wrong way, its clear he is losing him

Beyond the player himself and how he reacts, it is not a good look to publicly take to task a fan favourite - for someone who has been around the block like Mourinho i really don't see his angle here

Mourinho has always done this. Remember the Luke Shaw comments when he was United manager! I think he’s playing with fire a bit here tbh. If he doesn’t win a trophy with us then where does he go next? Certainly won’t get a job at the bigger clubs.

The Luke Shaw stuff was very publically discussed as borderline work place bullying though I seem to remember too.

Clearly?

We’re 2 bad results from being 10th.

And we are still in the conversation for top 4 after a difficult run of games. Woe betide us that we lost games. How many of us believed that we would be mentioned in the same breath as league title or top 4 this season? This is December. No one wins or decides the league title in December.

This is Jose Mourinho. Not Mauricio Pochettino. Not Jurgen Klopp. Not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Has he made mistakes? Yes. Has he done tactical switches that came off wrong? Hell yeah. Is he Tottenham manager? Yes! Are we overall in a good place? Yes. A much better place than last season. This is a team that Jose is building after two transfer windows.

It is getting popular to insult Spurs' manager and some of our fans are leading this.

Apparently there is only 6 point difference in Poch last 40 games and Jose first 40 which I find amazing considering how bad Poch last 40 were.

But we have also had the second best start to a season in 8 seasons I believe
Which considering the lack of prep and volume of games is great

If he doesn't win a trophy or get top 4, he can sling his hook as far as I'm concerned. Last night he crossed a line for me. I don't like him, I don't like his football but I'll support him as long as he's our manager and is getting results.

Amazing how people think backing Dele is the right thing here?

- Dele is a child that hasn't fudging figured out talent is the thing that lets you be the best guy in school, at this level is hard fudging work and the right decision making, neither of which he does.

People think Dele had a good game last night? why, because he made a few good runs, guess what, against championship level opposition that offered very little threat, he did nothing, he either needed to score the two clear chances he had, or in the case of the second one, lay off the ball for a tap in. Just once in a fudging while, know the balance of the game and make the appropriate decision.

Yes, Poch would never call out a player like this, that's exactly why Poch lost his fudging job, because his pals like Dele let him down. Jose isn't going to sit there and accept that, is it pretty or likeable = no? will it get us further than Poch = very likely.

I simply questioned your assessment that it was ‘clear’ that Jose was making us better than what Dele would/could make us (it’s actually an impossible comparison at the moment as Dele isn’t getting a chance to influence or contribute).

You seem pretty happy with the progress. The jury is out for me, particularly as Jose has sacrificed the playing style and is now (imo) mis-treating individuals. When you go down that route, you simply have to put results on the table. Let’s see how it pans out.

Agreed. And in the PL we’re currently on track for 68 points - not actually a very impressive total, and I don’t think normally enough to even get top 4. (Obviously things can change quickly, but I’m just saying that as of right now our PL results this season aren’t particularly good).
