Harry Kane MBE

He knows what he’s doing. Gabriel and Lallana were clearly running and jumping for the ball. You could see with Lallana he took two looks over his shoulder to make sure he was going to get contact. If it was an opposition player, I’d be losing the plot.

He does know what he is doing. He is drawing the foul and I agree that someone could get injured as a result.

It looks worse from some angles than others. The better angles tend to show him already moving in the direction before the opposition player jumps. They are jumping across his path to beat him to the ball. He isn't obliged to get out of their way.

Look at it again, Lallana is fudging reckless coming in, and a professional ref with VAR saw it for exactly that .. (Harry has no obligation to move out the way)

The best the social media witch hunt could come up with is three examples (for a guy that play 60+ games a fudging season), highlighting the worst possible angle. Of the three, I can only say in one instance was Harry being a dingdong, the rest is standard striker stuff.

He is a one season wonder, he only scores tap ins and penalties, he doesn't assist, now we have run out of that, let's just make him out to be some kind of dirty player .. fudge me ..
Same last season with Liverpool and United players saying Dele dives? fudging really, you have Mane and Salah in your side and can actually make accusations like that?

On the West Ham one, you can clearly see Kane look over his shoulder to draw contact. He's moved into the players' path with no intention to play the ball.

On Lallana, who himself was a little brainless, I've seen a camera angle (not visible here) where Kane has taken two looks over his shoulder to make sure he's getting hit by Lallana. Again, no attempt to play the ball by Harry.

On the Gabriel one, Kane has moved into his path with no intention to play the ball.

In all three instances, the other players are trying to play the ball, running/jumping into the path of the ball and Kane has gotten in their way with no intention of playing the ball himself. That's dangerous play and he needs to stop it before someone gets seriously hurt.

I've seen the video before. He does look over his shoulder. Those incident look different from a different camera angle because you get a better view of Kane's path prior to contact.

In all of those incidents Kane is fouled by the jumping player. If it is dangerous, the rules need to change. It would be interesting to see what the effect of a rule change would have on headers in the box.

Mate, that is not against the rules .. he has no obligation to stop it

If you can prove he is not only obstructing, but actively trying to "undercut" the player (purposely causing the player to fall awkwardly), but I think that is a real stretch (and a bricky thing to accuse one of our players of) to correlate into some habitual offender built on the only 3 examples that have so far been found.

There's no bigger Harry fan than me. I love the guy. I love his dedication, his professionalism and what he can do on the pitch. I’m certainly not saying he’s a dirty player. He’s not trying to do anyone, he’s trying to buy a foul. But by doing it, he is risking opposition players’ safety. He does dive but so does every other striker in the league. And I give Salah and Mane stick for it but Kane does it as well and so does Alli.

The point here is that he’s done the same thing three times in the last 6 weeks and it’s dangerous. If he keeps doing it, sooner or later we’ll have an opposition player with a broken neck or another player might do it to one of our players.

He's making absolutely no attempt to play the ball, the opposition players are.

The other players don't have to jump.

Lallana said it himself, he knew what Kane was going to do, yet he still jumped for the ball.

Yes he is, and its alright some of our fans dismissing it ( its what fans do) but if another team player does it to us they would be screaming for a foul. The word bias comes to mind here.

I don't think so, there is no law about having to contest a jump ball in the air, he's not expected to jump if he's taking that down uncontested is he.

Backing in is a foul, standing your ground and not jumping isn't.

So are you saying if a opposing teams player did the same to one of our players you would be ok with it?

Yeah, I'd be digging the idiot out for being in the wrong place to start with.

There is a big difference between intentionally flipping a player and just not jumping.

Kane against Lallana and Bellerin was just that. He was fouled in both cases.
