Harry Kane MBE

I can't dance with that at all, you can also say he could play CB when you see just how many headers he wins when we are defending corners. One weakness is i would like to see him taken off freekicks :)
Doesn't really matter who's on free kicks. They're all pretty useless at direct fk's. It's either straight into the wall, or row z.
It's actually quite amazing that we don't have a proper FK taker among all the talented players we have!
I'm not expecting a goal every time, but maybe a 1 in 10-20 from decent positions.
We're worse than 1 in 100 atm

I agree we are not good at free kick, and to think we used to slag Ericksen for his free kicks and he was better then what we have now.

I see Kane is getting some heat on social media for backing in to opponents when they go for headers. It’s not the rules that says both players have to jump. And doesn’t the other player have a responsibility to look after his own safety and the opponent by not crashing into Kane. People say Kane could cause the other player to break his neck but what about Kane? He could easily sustain an injury to the head, neck or back. At worst it’s obstruction. Bit like when defenders shield the ball out of play. Anywhere else on the pitch it’s a foul but it’s ok if you’re stopping the other player getting to the ball before it goes out of play. I feel a lot of people have it in for Kane. Part of it is jealousy and some of his diving but other than that I non-figuratively cannot think of a more professional, likeable role model for kids than Harry Kane. You never hear a peep from when it comes to off the field stuff either.

The correct reply is 'F*ck social media' its full of football fans and look what some them were like this weekend

If players are stupid enough to try and win a ball by going through or over the top of someone who has cannily positioned themselves in between the ball and the player, then more fool them. Sometimes players just have to accept you cannot win a certain ball cleanly, so shouldn't lunge in or try and climb over the top of someone who is in their way.

I was just saying the same last night, I'd love him to have a game at CB, I personally think he'd do just fine.

(Yes, I know it's not gonna happen)

I read that Mark Halsey is saying refs should be discussing Kane's challenges on their Zoom meetings, but will they have enough time after they've sorted out how many fouls Xhaka can commit before getting booked or what games and times to give United a penalty?

Hope the referees don't start clamping down on him for this. Strikers have always had to use tricks to gain advantages. Shearer had his elbows. As mentioned above Kane is positioning his body well and I think is stronger than he gets credit for. I'm glad he's a dirty player. That'll make him a winner.

A lot of the videos that are circulating online on this are using angles that make it look worse. What do people think he should do, stand aside and let a defender win an uncontested header? If a defender is jumping across someone, they need to factor in the player's movement. Kane is just being clever.

Kane is also not the only player who does this, there is a reason that Liverpool and Arsenal fans are talking about it this season, it's because we're top of the league and Kane is the best player in the country.

It's not so visible but the grafters in hoj-boj, bergwin and sissoko helps plenty. JM knows how to make a team work.
Kane and Son are essentially now doing the jobs of both Eriksen and Alli as well as their own and it's a credit to them both that we are managing to maintain our current position with them leading the line. With lesser two players in attack we'd either need a different approach or be nowhere near the top.

He isnt contesting the header though, he knows what he is doing, ala Sherringham, Shearer, Costa. I have no problem with it but it is dangerous but like I said about Lamela earlier in season I could not care a less, been years of us being brickhoused out of games.

I agree that it could be dangerous. He doesn't have to contest the header and he doesn't have to get out of the way of a player in the air. The defending player is not jumping straight up and Kane runs across them. They are jumping into the path of another player. Kane is certainly looking for contact but that is what strikers do.

It’s dangerous. A player could end up with a broken neck falling like that. Harry’s not being malicious or trying to cause injury - he’s just trying to buy a foul. But it’s dangerous. Players are running and jumping for headers, he’s getting in their way to draw contact and it’s throwing them dangerously off balance.

It's not him that is jumping across a player though

He knows what he’s doing. Gabriel and Lallana were clearly running and jumping for the ball. You could see with Lallana he took two looks over his shoulder to make sure he was going to get contact. If it was an opposition player, I’d be losing the plot.
