We should be doing more on the break but I guess the team are getting used to being a counter attacking team and it will improve in time. We look solid in defence though Doherty has got away with a couple of things. Hojberg adds a lot defensively in there. Great signing so far.

Enjoyed us doing a Burnley defensive set up for their throw.

Think ndombele will get hooked at HT for GLC as Webster just strode past him and the booking won’t help him prove his defensive effort.

I agree but I kind of don't believe he alone will make the difference. The problem is structural and deeper, Sissoko and Hojberg aren't good enough as pair to play through the Brighton press. Maybe if we bring on GLC and drop him deeper, maybe move Lamela central that could work?

Worst thing that should have happened was the Ndombele yellow card, he clearly had a job to do off the ball and is bow limited to what he can do.

If this had been the other way around they would be complimenting how good Brighton have been defensively.

I hope Son is not going out of form, he is a form player and is fudging shocking when it is not going right for him.

Not great. Can’t come out like that second half. Brighton been far better without troubling Hugo so far.

We look poor for a third game in row.

We've let them have a lot of the ball, but happy to reach HT without them having a single shot on goal.

No subs at half-time, just words to see if change can occur - especially for Son & NDombele - with Bale & Lo Celso to come on in the second if there's no improvement. Or if Brighton score.

Poor first half but I guess we’re winning and Hugo hasn’t had a save to make. Dier, Toby and Reguilon have been good. Hokbjerg has been our best player and the front 3 have been isolated. Ndombele is ahead of the play too often for me. He’s better being a bit deeper and making things happen. Doherty and Sissoko have been dreadful on the ball.

It hasn’t been good after the 20 minute mark. We need to pick it up because playing like this with a one goal lead is very dangerous.
Pretty much how I saw it, except I’d say that Sons touch has been heavy and Lamela’s not done much on the ball except his cross at the beginning of the game. Ndombele is struggling with the yellow, think we’ll see Moura and GLC to inject some urgency.

Agreed. But we're playing with 10 men with him, so better to bring him off asap

Christ, that was absolutely atrocious.

Sigh. Sissoko off, GLC on. GLC goes up higher, Ndombele drops deep next to Hojbjerg. Let's get some goddamn control, start to keep posession a bit, play through their press. Because right now, it's just pathetic.

If Ndombele's yellow worries folks, Reguilon's yellow worries me up against Lamptey. But fine, if you want to take Ndombele, make it our second sub - 60', Ndombele off, Winks on.
