Coronavirus

I'd imagine they go fairly odd when you start doing the charades.

You joke but my son brought home his first girl for dinner. I was getting looks from him and the wife all night. GHod knows what sort of looks they were because I'm not good at reading facial expressions.

She was a sweet kid, did not say a lot. Kept her head down and looked at the food mostly. It was only a pasta bake, sure she must of had one before so not sure what was so fascinating about it.

Clearly a polite girl.

Its rude to stare when the host is masturbating onto the garlic bread.

Death rates are still around 5 year average.
I'd like to see a proper analysis that adjusts for deaths whose likelihood has decreased due to the society change brought on by covid (ie vehicular incidents; murder; allergic reactions in uncontrolled environments (ie not the home); etc etc.

Just saying 5 year figures match is poor analysis and not accurate

These figures are awful, been telling everyone that since the beginning of this debacle, but few want to hear it.

I agree. I am not sure ONS have that to hand. It will tell a different story. Maybe the death rate should be a lot lower due to the measures introduced.

Wouldn’t that offset against the deaths, domestic violence and mental health issues caused by lockdown?

I’m thinking it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other?

Don’t get cancer - Hanrooster will be holding your treatment hostage unless covid is under control.

proving once again only covid matters.

Is anywhere tracking side effects / longer term issues of those who have recovered?

I’ve read quite a few stories now about people who are clear of COVID but have a major degradation in energy levels and physical fitness, and the myocardial damage I’ve mentioned before.

I fear there is more to this than direct deaths.

The stories are few and far between. Given the numbers that have had it, it suggests to me that it's a fairly small risk.

Long Covid isn't common but I know 2 people who have suffered who were young and otherwise healthy (not obese etc).

It seems to have different symptoms for different people. Like loss of taste only impacts some and not others.

We have to accept we only know a miniscule amount about the virus. Which explains why scientists are keen to not let people just get it.
