Black Lives Matter

Regarding the upgraded murder charge against Chauvin; by playing to the gallery in this way, haven't prosecutors substantially increased the risk of him walking?

(little-no knowledge of US legal system by the way)

At this point the entire process will become a dog and pony show.

I live in the UK you fudging loon.
Then have a look around you.

You'll see people from all over the world, of every skin colour imaginable, living and working together every single day.

Except those Australians of course. Racist clams the lot of them.

Don't get me started on Australia, they're as culpable as anyone. They're founded by this little inbred brickhole of an island though.

All the ideas, abhorrent treatment of Indigenous people, apartheid, it comes from the UK. It's the root cause.

Ah.
So what would you have the UK do?

That's not now though is it?

The only worthwhile thing any government can do about racism is create and environment where it's not welcome. The UK has a pretty strong record for that indecent years.

So you're openly failing to acknowledge what has gone before and the effects it still has on today's society? You're outing yourself as a racist sympathiser. Failure to acknowledge is to be complicit.

Acknowledge how?

I acknowledge that it happened and that it was wrong. Past that it's no more relevant than anything else that happened a long time ago. What do we do about what happened in the Stone Age? I'm sure some pretty awful stuff happened then too.

Wow just wow.

Think you have hatred in your heart and you need to work on that. If that comment was directed at some other countries or people it would be considered racist and be looked at by the mods.

Said a month or so ago in relation to one of our Irish posters. But the anti British sentiment and more so anti English feeling by some on this board is truly shocking. It really feels like the last acceptable form of hatred, the British.

You can hate Trump you can hate racism you can hate dictatorships like the EU without being a racist right wing nut you know.

I would not even call myself a proud Englishman, i dont celebrate st georges day and im indifferent to the national team, did not even vote in the last election.

Other than increasingly rare occurrences, I disagree.

I would not say we have got equality to where it should be yet but it does seem one area where we are far ahead of France and other European countries.

Unfortunately this twitter thing has the children riled up.

When i was that age i was just trying to earn as much money as possible. Where as now I have developed socialist views. I kind of did it the other way round to most people.

No one is failing to acknowledge it but when asked what will ever be enough you can’t answer as the anger about the past clouds clear thought.

You alluded earlier that nothing will ever be enough.

This is a two way street, both sides need to want it to work and in the example of the above where the only person that feels open to have a bigoted view opening (you) I would say this will only go in circles. People can offer apologies but if your not willing to accept them and also your responsibility to making society work then this Is never going to work

You're a sad, spineless person.

Selfie stick socialism.

"African president"? Which of the 54 African countries are you referring to?

The appalling Idi Amins of this world learnt from their colonial "masters".

The one quoted in the article.

Ah, so no African was ever bad until the British turned up, or Europeans, or let's get to the nub of it whites?
