Do you have a garden?

Buy food that can be sown (cant buy seeds anywhere), get kids involved, put them in charge of growing food, and feeding the family !

I feel for anyone with kids and no outdoor space. Have to plan some amazing things to keep them occupied.

The extra 20k I paid for a big garden all those years ago is as justified as ever for me. I am incredibly fortunate and for many without gardens I can't imagine how tough it is, especially with all the pricks with huge gardens shouting at them for going for a walk in a field.

One of my work colleagues Mrs is a teacher and she has been told to prepare for a June return to school
Really hope this is true

It will very probably be September - the cancellation of GCSE and A Level exams were an early signal that this was the likely outcome.

Even then it probably won’t be school in a conventional sense. I’m an Assistant Head. We’ve established a group to plan for a return then which will involve the need to socially distance: year groups attending on alternate days to allow for smaller classes, some online tasks to support this, reduced day lengths to cut down on time for socialising outside the classroom...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there’s a good chance that will be the reality - unless science comes up with therapeutic treatments before then which make a difference.

I have friends with kids in two different private schools and they've been told it's definitely a September return. Online learning until then

Anybody else received the voice text with a woman reportedly ”in the know”? Pure propaganda and panic material. First time ever had to tell someone to stop forwarding a Whatsapp. It was disgusting

Fauci, the infectious disease expert in the US who advises Trump, has just said this afternoon that he thinks schools there “should be able to reopen in the fall.” Hard to see us doing anything different.

Er...fall I don’t think so! How did they come up with such an obvious name for autumn [emoji262] and what is wrong with autumn? Smug gits [emoji23]

US schools would be breaking up for the summer in June anyway I think? Pretty sure they have around 3 months summer holidays.
I'm not disagreeing with what you are saying about here btw, just that for the US it's less drastic as they are closer to the summer shut down anyway.

I was thinking today that I can't see us being able to attend football matches again for at least a year. Even with restrictions lightened, it's hard to see mass gatherings being permitted pre-vaccine or at least until there is a high level of confidence around immunity levels.

That’s us

We live in a flat, ground floor at least with a small patio but no space at all for the kids to be out and about

It’s a little sun trap in the afternoon though so I’ve been doing my afternoon meetings on the phone out there so at least getting some Vitamin D

Yes, walob

Utter scum. Heard this. Am in a group with some credulous but lovely people and they were alarmed.

This lady needs to be traced and metaphorically strung up. A public nuisance, and needs to be named and shamed.

And she speaks with an Arsenal accent.

Dunno if I’ve received that particular message but my WhatsApp and Messenger groups are full of such misinformation

Every time I receive such tosh I’ll reply with the appropriate link from one of these fact check sites, in the hope that the senders will see some sense!!

Priti Patel is noticeably absent during all of this. Hearing or seeing nothing from our Home Secretary during a national crisis is unusual to say the least.
Some are saying Cummings is keeping her well away from everything, especially the daily briefings as she’s bad for the party image. No one wants to hear from her smirking face that 900 have died that day.

I agree. If next season starts, it will be behind closed doors.

Hope you guys and gals are all keeping safe.

Thought you might find it amusing that my 9-year old daughter has been putting on full kit (with captains armband) every day to get me to do 2 hours of football drills. Absolutely knackering, I see why Hudd needed the ketchup!
