Jose Mourinho - SACKED

I would have to watch the whole game again to see if they had switched. At that point that goal was created it looks like neither of them were playing deep (which is inexplicable). We instead have a chasm of space between our midfield and defense. That spot that Traore takes up is the exact spot that a Wanyama type would’ve automatically filled in when playing for us a couple of seasons ago. Winks charging out towards that ball showed a complete lack of awareness of what was behind him. Watch as Mourinho gets that ball, he has both Jotta and Traore goal side of our midfield, open, both with at least 15 yards of space to run into before coming up against our defence. Is there another team in the PL who leave such huge swathes of space in central attacking areas as we do?

Do you really think that Winks was in the right position there Bedford, pressing Moutinho in Wolves’ half with us 2-1 up? It is Sunday league kids football type of play.
I think someone had too and no one else moved so yes

you cannot just let them waltz around the pitch. Is why Mourinho said we need to be more aggressive was passive

As I said there was more than enough cover behind winks but the didn’t do their job. It’s what costs us time and again... basic defensive errors

OK, fair enough. The two of us will have to disagree. Maybe I’m the one who is wrong but I would never want my central midfield player to be playing a one man pressing game in the opponents half. It’s hard enough playing a proper, orchestrated pressing game.

Notice wolves don’t press. They save themselves to mount certain attacks and rely on their defenders to do the basics well
We don’t really press but I think Winks was concerned they had a free run to pass the ball

We don’t press at all either. One player cannot decide he is going to press all by himself, it completely ruins the team’s defensive shape. Moutinho is a good enough player to play through even an orchestrated press (I remember him schooling us in the CL game at Wembley when we still played an orchestrated press under Pochettino, Moutinho was brilliant at playing through it). So a single player of ours choosing to charge in from 20 yards away to press him really isn’t going to have any chance of turning over possession.

Well a good example of the gamble is Bergwein... no one said we needed him but he was available for good money and has added quality. He is also starter level rather than a stocking filler player. Gedson too is another who could be anything but is a low risk move

Players like Aaron’s and Atal would need to step up so that’s technically a gamble but have shown real quality when playing with their clubs

Is it? Remind me of the terms if you don't mind, I cant remember. I know I can google it.

the team doesn't know how to press collectively, but they do try. count how many times you see one forward player press alone then turn back with his arms outspread mouthing "why didn't you press" tonight against norwich. happens 3-4 times each first half and then second half they don't even bother.

Whats the soonest Levy might fire him....he'll give him the summer and first 10-15 games of next season won't he?

Why he had lost it at the end, ran the players into the ground till they physically broke down.

So people would have you believe for the players, I'll give you a bit for the break-down part cos that is quite obvious in some of them, but at least we'd actually play bloody football.. This turgid bs that is Spurs now is utterly gonad*s, not knee jerking it this is what Jose v5.0 brings - next season will be no better, I'll happily put money to charity (not your back pocket or custard) if we have a good season next run out.

So what's Jose's excuse for because this lot look fudged in every game. But we don't press the way we used to, our intensity is crap and we've signed four new players since the summer.

Well I think we should give the new manager time to turn the squad round. I get some hate the guy. But this squad has been playing badly for a year. It is finished and needs new younger and hungry players.

I think there is a bit of overreaction here considering the nature of the equalising goal, it’s a shocking mistake by the keeper, who admittedly got away with another equally incompetent moment, Norwich didn’t create a chance from which you’d normally expect a goal to be scored, we had a handful of opportunities.

I’ve not seen the xG yet but I’d be surprised if ours wasn’t a full point higher.

Busted flush?

I think he most likely is and I thought that when he was at Man Utd too..

BUT

He's here now and dealing with some (relatively) difficult circumstances. He needs to be given a proper transfer window and we need to fudging listen to what Poch was telling us to do 2 seasons ago and rejig the squad.

I desperately desperately hope I'm wrong about him though.

The football wont be what you or I like for sure.

But given time I imagine we will be higher up the league. Also think he will bring in some bastards to help.
