It’s a good time to text Saints supporters (my brother in law, for a start). We gave them an extra man and a free goal but they were too rubbish to make either count. Depressing times at SCBC, surely.

A big relief to get that win, and well done to the players in the second half. We defended well and showed some spirit. I would have liked us to keep the ball a bit better, but it was all about the win. Southampton created nothing in open play after the red card, which showed we defended our box well.

Aurier showed that he just can't be relied on. He can play well one week, but then he goes into idiot mode the next week. I don't think there is any cure for his stupidity, because he doesn't seem to learn.

Kane played well today, although he should have done better with that counter attack we had early in the second half when he had a chance to pass to Eriksen. I thought Ndombele looked quicker and fitter than before, and Winks also played well most of the game. Rose started poorly, but had a good second half. Our center back also did well, as did Sissoko at right back. Credit to Lloris too for making two good saves in the second half and making up for his error. Lamela kept the ball well after coming on. Son was a mixed bag, but he was involved in both goals.

After selling all those players to Liverpool if I were a Southampton fan I would like to know what all the money was spent on.

I called it 2 or 3 years ago, Sissoko should be our right back. He proved it today against a tricky customer. For a while Bertrand tried to beat him, but in the end he just gave up

Same, has all the attributes to play there.

Obviously too much effort went into beating Pompey to maintain their status as SCBC

Alright second half. Decent first half too apart from the sheer stupidity.

Made hard work of what could have been comfortable, but a win any way at this point is welcomed.

He did make two great saves but nothing cancels out a mistake of that stupidity. Someone should deck him.

Hopefully it is the the mistake that finally stops him d#cking about with it at the back and he finally realises that. Luckily it didnt cost us any points, another day it may well have

Kane stepped today, especially after the sending off. Good to see.

Lloris ironically saved us a couple of times.

Best moment today though was Toby, Jan and Hugo embracing at the end and a big roar and double fist-pump to the South from Toby.

I didn't see the match today. What happened to Aurier? Any mitigating circumstances or just a brain melt?
