We're playing well, it's just that Alli and Son are not on it. Alli has had such a stop start season, we haven't seen the best of him this year. Davies, Dier, Eriksen Moura are playing well. Rose doesn't look entirely sure in his position. Missing Kane so far today.
 
what's wrong with the link up play. everyone seems to be half asleep. ali... we are not getting into any rhythm or stride and west ham have been looking menacing even though they lack quality up top. give them enough chances, they will score.

Feels like we are playing with Hexagonal pegs in Pentagonal holes.

Nearly good, but always failing, always alllowing the defender to get back, or giving the keeper a huge chance to save, or shooting wide, or running into trouble.

El Pocket needs to tweak something clever somewhere* and make us tick.

Dele has been poor. Son hasn't been great. Lucas and Eriksen have been great.

Defense has looked pretty assured, but there's always just a hint of doubt, given that West Ham are getting into dangerous positions.

Rose has done well on the left-wing, but it's clear he's lost a yard of pace now.

Not sure whether to stick or twist here. Keep the same side? Or throw on Llorente?
 
Unfortunately just haven't been at it with the final action in the final third.

Standout moment for me was the unacceptable selfishness from Dele who effectively disallowed a goal for us by refusing to square to Son all because he wanted to try a speculative shot.

In pre season maybe that’s okay but its totally unacceptable to do that in a competitive game unless you’re winning 4-0.
 
Cutting through them at will early doors. Alli did and then didn't play Son through. A number of times, players had to think before they passed, and the opening had closed. Playing a slightly different system/personelle that is probably to be expected.
 
The problem always with the diamond is no width. Foyth and Davies need to push up and rely on Dier covering in behind.


Danny Rose stop trying to pass the ball. I know you're playing in midfield but just run with. That's what turned Sissoko around after two seasons of trying to pass the ball.
 
Davies and Foyth are our full backs. They don't get forward much.

We have Dier covering... we don't need 2 such defensive full backs.

Either change formation or change players.
