OK then, here's your "context"...I am not sure but I believe you have either played, or know people personally who have. You should be able to see exactly what Delph did. If you cannot, why don't you ask them if they believe Delph left his foot in there over to the top and through into Kane's ankle?

Again, I think it is absolutely clear. If Kane was looking to foul Delph, he'd have gone in over the top. He clearly goes to do nothing more than block the clearance/ball. Delph doesn't like it and makes sure he leaves one on Kane's ankle. Unfortunately Kane does slip too, but Delph's intent is clear. Emirates Marketing Project were looking to do him wherever. Do I wish Kane had been a little less enthusiastic in chasing that ball down? Yes. Does it negate the foul? No. FWIW Delph has always had it in him, like Young and Adam.

Yeah I played and still do all be it five a side now
And I know some ex pros

That for me isn’t Delph leaving his foot in, where is he meant to put it after clearing the ball? He has every right to put it down on the floor

For me that’s Kane’s left foot sliding on the pitch trying to make a block. The pitch was partly to blame and Kane was just unlucky again in making a defensive challenge from the front

I agree they were targeting him at every opportunity but that happened so quick I don’t believe he could have planned it or calculated leaving his foot in...

Just to add Kane slipped in the start of his run too and wobbled slightly to the left. I think the pitch has big issues with grip at the moment

Re the Delph tackle, that's similar to what Jan was sent off for against arsenal, winning the ball but following through in a dangerous manner.
One sentence sums up last and spurs in general, if that's the rules fine, but apply them to everyone, not just us.
Delph wasn’t making he tackle though, Kane was
You can’t win the ball when your the man with the ball

From The Guardain match report:

Son struck the winner in the 78th minute, cutting inside Fabian Delph before letting fly with his left foot and getting lucky when Ederson, City’s goalkeeper, let the ball go beneath his body.

WTF??? The bias against us from many in the press is astounding. Son leathered that shot and it was too fast fro Ederson, despite Ederson being better than Gordon Banks according to the commentators I was listening to.

He didn’t get his body behind the ball, he thought he had time to fall on it rather than block it, a crap bit of keeping.

He’s not a very very good keeper if he makes mistakes like that imo.

No he is IMO
He is the best in the league
The reality is they ALL make mistakes
And people quickly forget the positives certain players bring because of the errors

I’ve said it before but De Gea would look awful for us or city as he stays in his 6 yard box and it means he is there to make the saves he does. He is a very low risk keeper and suits low risk defences.

Well done, well managed game, City had one of those nothing possession games.

We looked solid, Son had more than a couple chances (thankfully took one), and Eriksen opened them up a few times.

The continuous fouling and Kane's injury aside, good day at office.

De Gea would definitely have saved that.

I don't think it was a sending off, they both went into hard but fair, my point is that it's similar to what Jan got sent off for.
It's either a rule or it isn't.
And you can kick a ball and follow through with the intent to hurt, don't think it matters if you have the ball or not. Not that I think Delph did, but you can.

I wasnt a keeper but I did play in goal a few times and I found low shots close to my body were far harder to save than shots I had to dive to save, also Son was only 8 yards out and hit the ball with power, the reaction time was minimal, it was one of those you get lucky and stop it or it goes in. I dont think there is any blame on the keeper. Kane was just unlucky he got there a split second later than Delph, but I cannot see how Fernardino is allowed to commit such a cynical assault without any caution and simply dont believe the ref saw it as he was directly behind the culprits body and may have thought Kane was making more of the contact. It was clear that City had a plan to rough Kane up and as usual UEFA refs let it go.

It was a very good team display last night and despite being told by many experts City dominated??? I find it hard to remember Lloris being troubled. I know its bang on the same old drum but it does annoy me when displays like last night are put down by the media and yet when we hammer United with their keeper making the most saves this season in a game we are beaten by a terrific display by their favourites.

Does anyone think Fernandinho will get a retrospective ban? There's not much in the news about it.

What a game. Atmosphere was immense in the South Stand last night and celebrations mental when Son scored. Really do think our stadium is going to be a fortress. Plus I stayed until 95 mins and 5 seconds. Think that is a record.

Agreed on South Stand, GGG - it was incredible. Didn’t get back to Dorset until 2.00am but worth it for sure.

Win lose or draw the next 2 games we have against this lot, I really want us to kick the sh1t out of them. Especially Fernandinho, his achilles should be completely shredded by the end of the next game.

2 legs innit, that's still half time

Poch has read the situation perfectly.
