Chelsea were unbelievably poor. Where that leaves us I’ll leave you guys to discuss.
Honourable mention for Winks Sanchez and Sissoko.

Was not bothered by our efforts so much but I was shocked by our application.

Winks and sissoko covered a lot of ground but it doesn’t seem to help us creatively does it ...

Trying is great but you also need end product. Moura and Lamela haven’t delivered in that area for a good 4 months now. Lamela has been here 6 years, 6 and we’re still waiting for him to have a breakout season. I’m fine with him being a squad player but not starting, especially against top class opponents.

Yeah well, I suppose they could have just stood about watching and not trying.
If you think moura who came on for what 10 mins was the problem tonight then fair enough. I beg to differ.

You have to give credit to Chelski and how they fought relentlessly, they were clearly the better team.

But as much as they made life difficult for us, we lacked almost everything ourselves. Once they applied pressure, we laid down, spread our cheeks, applied lotion and took whatever they had to give us.

Extremely disappointed by the lack of intensity and initiative from us. There were so many players who looked like they weren't even trying. The defensive mistake for their first and that calamitous own goal were merely symptoms of the laclustre performance we served tonight.

I'm worried about Saturday now. It always was a must win, but now it could be season defining - win, and we maintain a gap that could be enough for us to secure third place. That would be a good season. Lose, and all of a sudden we face the prospect of needing something at Anfield or in Manchester to avoid losing out on CL. That would be a small disaster for us. Unless we win the CL, which of course we won't.

Massive, massive derby coming up.

They were poor also. We finally managed to find a ref that let us tackle Hazard but gifted them 2 goals instead.

Saturdays game could have come at any time since the last time we played them but it’s arguably come at just the worst.

Spot on.

Points tonight would have been a bonus tbh. Saturday was the real killer though. 3pts at Burnley and a draw v Arsenal would have been fine, but now even a draw is probably not enough as the gap would be only be 4pts and those will be wiped out the weekends we visit Anfield and Etihad

We simply aren't quite good enough to win the big trophies, you only have to look at our matches against other top sides to see this. Liverpool and City were a class above and let's be honest we only got through our CL group because we were lucky to play a Barca side that had nothing to play for.

We have been very consistent for the past few years and it's partly been luck due to many of the top sides going through transitional periods but until this squad is improved upon we have hit our ceiling I feel.

Kind of annoys me more now that we went half hearted in the domestic cups as what exactly have we gained from being out of them?

I think top 4 is unlikely now, given the form of the players and the run of games we have.

Hope I am wrong.

Is Stamford Bridge a small pitch? It felt like there was no space for our attackers tonight but they before really opened us up either. One goal was always going to make it difficult but instead of it being Winks effort Toby got done in because he’s covering on his wrong side and the shots gone through the keeper. We didn’t ask many questions either but the last 3 games against them have all followed this pattern.

There’s a big Alli shaped hole in the team at the moment, I thought we’d climbed the mountain when Kane was out. Since he’s come back Son has had a couple of average games, perhaps his directness is a hindrance when he’s not playing as the focal point.

Need to look at Saturday as an opportunity to put the daylight between us and Goons. If Alli was back that would be timely boost, Aurier and rose to start too.

But tonight’s probably more important as it’s a top 4 6 pointer. And despite them creating virtually nothing, we’ve completely rolled over.

I don't think we were as bad as you are all saying. We started poorly, but after about 20 minutes we got a foothold in the game and from that point on it was an even game. Did you expect us to waltz over them at Stamford Bridge? They were always going to up for this game and they have good players there.

We switched off for the first goal and Alderweireld subsequently defended the situation very poorly. There is no point talking about the second goal. But all in all I think we were better tonight than in both the semi-finals against them. We did have two key players in Eriksen and Son who were very poor though.

I am very concerned about top 4 now though. The title was never on, but the gap to the teams below us is disappearing fast. We desperately need a win on Saturday. We have two games left away to Liverpool and Emirates Marketing Project that we can pretty much write off, so we are in trouble.

In games as bad as that they are our firemen.
They were wonderful.
Lamela?

Sissoko was barely bang average. He wasn’t the worst but he was far from good. And that “clearance” that led to Higuain’s chance off the post? That’s one of those incidents that highlights how likely Sissoko is to cost us when it matters. He had several similar moments on Saturday.

Winks was good.

Trippier should be dropped for the rest of the season. Possibly sold in summer. Awful form during hole season and as apogee made a basic defender error which is learned when you're 8 years old: you never pass the ball to the keeper in net direction. He was even looking at the ball, not at Lloris's position! Absolutely macaronic piece of play... One of the worst goals conceded by Spurs in my supporting life time.

2nd time in a row below average perfomance by most part of the team.

From making pressure on dippers and city to being in the mix for 4th place finishing. Arsenal made +6 GD on us today btw.

It's hockey pitch size!
