Been binge watching Black Mirror. Before watching the Bandersnatch episode, I’d only ever watched the first season. I’ve now watched the second season, admittedly only four episodes, and will move on to season three today. I’ve enjoyed the series but find that there are gaps in the logic at times, and potential plot holes but otherwise I enjoy the darker look at one potential future World. So many moral dilemmas are raised, it’s a shame that I watch alone and so have no one to discuss them with, but I’ve watched videos on YouTube about the episodes, and naturally given the subjects some thought myself.

What surprises me is how strong the cast of the show is, especially as whilst a series, the cast are unique for each episode.

What I like about it is that it absolutely DOESNT need binge watching. An odd episode here or there is perfect.

It’s true, they are all separate stories and do can be watched apart from each other...but...it’s like having a packet of cookies. You can have just one and walk away, there’s no necessity to have another, but having enjoyed the one cookie, its hard not to have another. I’m sure that I’ll rewatch episodes too, looking for clues for the ending, especially White Christmas, as there were subtle nods to the direction that the show was taking, and the ending, and will be interesting to see how many there were when watching back again. White Christmas, an episode which brings another meaning to ‘cookies’, and another moral dilemma.

Of course, each to their own! As someone who tends to binge a series I like though, get that compulsion to put the next one on and see what happens... I find Black Mirror refreshing as its very much a one and done if you want it to be.

Just finished The Sinner II NETFLIX

Not bad

As good as the first?

San Junipero in series 3 is one of the most moving dramas I've ever watched.

I watched that episode yesterday, I was confused at first, I didn’t really understand what was happen. But as the truth was revealed, as the characters were unveiled, the strength of the story grew. An excellent episode, perhaps one of the best, and also a rare non dark Black Mirror episode. As you say, it was a moving episode, the soundtrack was cleverly chose, with each song providing a subtle nod to either the character, the moment, the storyline arc, or all three. I’m going to have to rewatch soon to see how all the pieces fell together. I feel as if somehow I had missed a vital piece of information upon my first viewing of the episode.

I also thought that Hated in the Nation was an excellent episode. I’ve finished season 3, half watched USS Callister, and I’m going to watch more of season 4 over the next few days.

Just seen that there’s a new series of Fleabag starting 3 Feb ( BBC3). Looking forward to it. Sunday Times describes it as “darker and more emotional” than the first series.

Edit - starting in Feb. Not necessarily 3 Feb.

I loved it! Never would have watched it otherwise (didnt even know it was there!) so thank you.

The singer is clearly a deluded bellend, which makes for great entertainment.

Honestly didnt particular like the last couple of series, but loved the first couple, so Ill watch in hope...
only half way through the new series but they should have ditched Alice (I have thought this for a while), she was fun as a bit part but they built the show around her to its determent - means it went from a detective show to a super hero show.

I never really identified her as the issue (though while I enjoy her, she could have gone ages ago), but I do agree it went from morally grey detective show to action super star show and thats very much to its detriment.

Think this series was pretty naff. The Alice Stuff just brought it down as the other part of the story should have been developed a lot more at a lesser pace. Think then it would have been pretty decent.
