We are building a big stadium primarily to monetise the tourists, they spend more in the club shop and on concessions.
 
This was a loss in a run of form which is in scale with finishing top four (and in some years title winning). Top four was the aim at the beginning of the season I'd imagine - with a cup as a bonus, so we are really doing alright. It's always disappointing to lose but look at how Klopp was backed, if Poch had been backed in our three weakest positions with £50-80m pound fees then we would be much closer to Liverpool. Liverpool grasped the nettle, maybe Poch saw that with VDV and Keita and his comments about 'bravery' in the summer were a reaction to that.
 
Thought Toby and Sanchez were decent funnily enough. Eriksen covered an incredible amount of ground but gave a lot of balls away. Kane was peripheral particularly second half as was Son.

Winks and Sissoko looked leggy first half and out on their feet second half. Wolves battered us. I couldn’t believe how high they pushed their full backs which gave them all sorts of options. Was relieved when Traore went off because he caused all sorts of problems but that was the beginning of the end for us.

Very, very disappointing.

The way to do it is to focus solely on the league. That's how Chelsea and Leicester did it the years they won. That would not be acceptable to our fanbase

League and CL yes, fudge the rest off imo.

Annoying that the considered opinion today is that we were short a half of fitness after the run of games yet we wasted most of them in the league cup.

The atmosphere was okay last season imho, as season ticket holders attended most games plus thousands of us Lilywhite members purchased Wembley Passes which gave us an incentive to attend every game and I built up a nice rapport with the guys sat alongside me.

However this season is pay-as-you-go for me so I’ve skipped a few matches whilst many season ticket holders I know haven’t been to anything other than category A games; which means that there’s now far too high a proportion of tourists who merely want to visit the world famous Wembley Stadium whilst they’re holidaying in London and that’s lead to an atrocious atmosphere.

NWHL might get a few thousand day trippers weekly but I doubt it’ll be anywhere near so bad a ratio to Spurs fans as has been the case at recent games plus our new stadium is designed to be a better place to enjoy football than the soulless corporate bowl that is Wembley.

Even little things like having stewards who are actually Tottenham born and bred should help make matchdays slightly more pleasant, as most of the staff at Wembley seem to support our rivals judging by their reactions to goals.
 
Days like this you begin to appreciate how beneficial a streamlined fixture list can be. Wolves went out early in the Carabao Cup while we had a tough haul getting through CL group stage and winning our way into CC semi. That added set of games meant Wolves have played 22 games total this season, Spurs played 29.

No wonder we faded so badly in the second half. Looked like a repeat of the second half in the league loss to Arsenal.

That, and the fact that Wolves really are a very decent side. Well managed, good balance across the pitch.

I'm not schittin' chickens about this. Not like I would be if my side had been publicly disembowelled like Arsenal were at Anfield. I feel better just typing that.

They have some very workmanlike players coupled with some classy ones like Neves and Coutinho who can play. Wolves wing backs have been excellent this season

I don’t think they have scored that many goal in a game this season and they scored 3 from 4 shots on target so we’re as efficient as we have been lately

I genuinely think of we had some more quality not injured it would have made a huge difference to the result. I also wonder if we had been given the penalty just before they scored the 3rd how it could have ended. I didn’t see the game but the BBC said it should have been given

If we were Liverpool, we would have been given two penalties for that one incident.
 
apologies for any repeats, at the game so not read through.

Football tourists are what a bigger stadium and success brings. Those tourists will spend more than me in the club shop and put more pics on social media, but they don’t know the shelf side song nor are too bothered about the result. In the new ground, without cashback and what I assume is a mix of general sale amongst season ticket holders they will still bring their money but more likeminded fans will be sitting together creating an atmosphere and supporter behaviours that will be the norm rather than the extreme. The wolves fans I discovered behind me claimed they ‘welcomed 250 of our lot’ in their end at Molineux but whilst I respect those who follow their clubs away from home and it’s a lot easier to be gracious in victory I don’t recall this happening domestically at WHL and would not expect the same in the single tier at new WHL. I remember a 3pm Saturday kick off being a privilege, let alone the ticket itself.

On the pitch, it was one game too many. The depleted midfield was running on gas, combined with the one paced full backs we gave the ball away too often and without the extremes of fortune against Southampton and Bournemouth there was nothing left in the tank when they equalised. I thought we’d defended well up until the corner but didn’t have enough on the ball to ask enough questions to push them back. I’ll watch the second again but at this point in time I feel Lloris could have done a lot better. My views on him can occupy a thread.

In summary, the end of the year is a good a time to stock as any. It’s been an amazing year, filled with over achievement, of especially given our budget , setbacks with the stadium and first team injuries that are seldom acknowledged. Who’d have thought that Sissoko would be undroppable, I’d be wishing we had Lamela on the bench today or calling for KWP and Skipp to be brought on. In the same way the August born slow, paced Kane developed a technique and desire that took him above his peers when things evened out in adulthood, I believe this team is continually getting stronger by swimming against the tide and will be stronger at the end than those that are being pushed along with it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we should have been given a penalty and weren’t. My thinking was Liverpool seem to be getting all the decisions this season, and penalties for diving. They are getting the luck that Leicester has the season that Leicester won the league. Stone wall penalties denied against them. Dives by Liverpool players rewarded with penalties, and no sanctions for diving even after the decision was later reviewed.
