just a couple of minor modifications for you.......

he is still young.....The whole Liverpool move hasnt worked out for him so far, at Saudi Sportswashing Machine he proved he was a Premier League player.

The burden of the 35 mill price tag cannot be underestimated either, Torres has been made to look like a carthorse by the weight of the price Chelsea paid for him.

i guess it was between him, Crouch, and Zamora for that big man role, i never thought Woy would consider Holt

Carrick has always looked poor at international level.....many Utd fans cant believe he is still at the club, never lived up to the hype
It's still absolutely incredible that Henderson is on stand-by instead of him. Henderson is a fairly brick footballer.

I would have picked Holt from that lot.

He aint pretty, but he's the kind of guy that will run all day and die for the shirt, and he's proved that given the chances he can score.

yep, Henderson on standby is a major brain fart from Woy

he is in form thats for sure, playing at the top of his game.....thats the kind of question id have liked form the press this afternoon, instead of focusing on Ferdinand, just one journalist to ask how close was Holt to being selected

Yea I was beginning to feel a bit patriotic again with Roy's appointment, but that squad really is the same old cr*p. It wouldn't have been too difficult to freshen it up a bit.

People that shouldn't be there: Green, Downing, Terry, G Johnson (although with Walker being injured then maybe).

Obvious Ommissions: Richards, Carrick, Lennon, Sturridge.

Hard done by: Holt, Ferdinand, Jagielka, A Johnson.

UK

do you remember that guy that kept on trying to literally arrange a meet with people he didnt agree with and fight them? i think his name began with E maybe? or R?

Hmm, doesn't really ring a bell. The only incident like that I remember is the 'I'll end you' one

Ha ha! Another embarrassing show from Engurland in the offing. I will enjoy reading the papers in June.

not exactly freshening it up though is it :), they have been involved before and some hardly impressed back then

Couldn't care less anymore. If England do well then great, but if the fail as normal then I won't be losing any sleep.

What actual reason is there for leaving Carrick out? It's just so weird. He plays every week almost for title challengers, and has a style of football completely suited to the International game. He is good at keeping shape - thereby you'd think tying in with what Roy wants - but he is overlooked by every single manager, and has been for years.

Why? So we can see more Stevie-me ball hogging/hollywood passes or downright averageness of Barry?

You'd struggle to pick any players that haven't played before at 1 time or another for England !!

The likes of Johnson, Jagielka, Richards and Lennon can't have more than 15 caps and they'd be replacing tried and failed players.

Lennon has had quite a few chances but has never really impressed at international level

Jaglielka and Johnson could have been given a go, but Johnson hasnt played much this year...it cant have been easy for Woy and i think thats why he has stuck with the majority who have got England to this tournament. Its kinda fair imv
