Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

What’s that supposed to mean
Multiplex have offered to take over from Mace?!!?

Going by this small piece posted on SSC, their original bid was to have it done by December. There's a big difference in 'complete' and 'ready'.

The delays in the construction of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium will have come as no surprise to Multiplex, which was the second-placed bidder for the job when pitches were made to the club in 2015.

Multiplex’s proposed bid offered an estimated completion date of December 2018, but Tottenham chose to go with Mace, a rival building firm, whose tender claimed that the new stadium would be ready by July this year. More than three years later, the completion date is still unknown, with the earliest that Tottenham could open their stadium being the visit of Chelsea on November 24.

Looks like the west side could be finished by the end of this month.

And in the case of Multiplex there is a big difference between December 2018 and real time.

Not sure that Multiplex have the greatest track record of their own.

Ah

That makes sense now

Exactly. I can't remember a single major build they have completed on schedule. They are throwing stones in a glass house.

If what @Jordinho is saying, multiplex said it couldn’t be done in the time the club needed so actually they were right

Their an odd business thought and I wouldn’t use them or Mace for this type of work

The more pictures I see the more convinced I am that the stadium would have been ready for the Liverpool game.
Agreed - the schedule changed hugely as soon as the delay was announced, so they've been doing the sky bar sky lounge wotsits under the roof, rather than focussing on the pitch, seats, paving... but when you think what a bombsite WHL was towards the end (having to walk under the construction of the new west stand, to get to WHL) then paving and walkways were really not a big deal.
I still believe we could have had a pitch, seats, toilets, lights, SOME refreshment areas, entrances... everything needed. Just about.
E.g. the whole east stand closed off apart from access to seats, but everything else working.
