***OMT: Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool***

Fcuk me - just back and 45 pages to go.

Gentlemen (and Ladeeez), I'll read all your contributions.

In the meantime ... a fair result, but.

We were fortunate with referee/asst decisions, and I was surprised that Dermot the ex-ref (Gallacher?) was as firm in backing their decisions.

Harry's first pen was soooo naff, but he had the nerve to take & score the second.

Their first ... merde alors, M. Dier.

Our first ...... simply - WOW ! Victor, my favourite etc etc

Their second ... Salah goes for goal. Always. Their only player I would welcome (for now - Moura could make that an irrelevance). Standing off that guy is a poor option.

I fear we'll have a backlash from referees, so we've gotta score cleanly as we'll be denied favours/benefit of doubt or whatever. More so than before.

I watched in a fresh location (Cassidy's, Tunbridge Wells), and had neutrals going with the Spurs chants, which hacked off a couple of unreconstructured Dipperites (sorry, Kloppers).
The referee decisions were correct mate. We got lucky that this ref / Lino had the balls to give them for once!

VVD sometimes has mental issues where his head is not in the game .... on and off that pitch.

75m for a defender that is the love child of Michael Jackson and crusty the clown

I thought ref was great. How often do they really consult their assistants now? For me they don’t at all and they miss out on the extra pair of eyes

Here the Lino brought to the ref the last penalty as he missed it and helped me him as much a she could for the first one. Couldnt ask for more

Klopp tripping over his own rants in his press conference :

It was obviously not his day because the first penalty was one of the clearest offside situations I've seen so far. Maybe there's a new rule, but in the moment I don't know who played the pass. When the ball left the foot of the Tottenham player Harry Kane is offside, this situation never changed. Nobody touched it from Dejan, our defence put him offside. That's good defending. So you can leave the ball through.

[Journalist] The linesman said that if Lovren didn't touch it, it was clearly offside, if he does it's onside.
Is that the rule? Really? You agree or you are surprised. If Dejan Lovren plays the pass then it's not offside of course, but he doesn't play the pass, he touches the ball. That's not the rule. That's a new situation. Look in the end the ref is always right. Isn't that a nice life?

From not touching the ball at all, to a distinction between a touch and a pass.

He was rambling in that interview, many of the things he said made no sense. Words and sentences that dont exist in the english language. :p

I’m always surprised when a player or coach, employed as a football professional, doesn’t know the rules inside out, its even more important if you are responsible for game management.

I think football has really mucked up the offside issue, with changes in interpretation every couple of years, be a lot simpler if anyone in an offside position is offside, too many if and buts and guessing. I know it makes for negative football and let's defenders catch the headless chickens but it's all too hit and miss for the players and fans.

Just remove it and make defenders defend for a living.

I have just seen the second penalty
in a replay

its such a dive, I am over the moon, thought it was a penalty in real time - fudge them.
