I don't think the competition at RB is a problem. It is beautiful

That said I think we have need of better CBs. Can Sanchez, Tanganga, Dier, Foyth develop to close the gap. Only time will tell.

The thing with the centre backs is 3 of them have signed new contracts under Mourinho’s tenure this year, so it would seem that Sanchez would have been the odd one out if we did get an upgrade. Maybe there is quite a bit of hope that Tanganga will establish himself this season, with Dier as the senior partnership. I’m still hopeful of seeing improvement due to Mourinho’s reputation for organising defences and it does seem we haven’t give one pair an extended run of consecutive games for a while.

He looked leaner if anything at the beginning of the season

He has had a bad couple of years what with injury and illness, but he is looking a lot fitter now and playing well.

At fault for both goals last night. Sloppy pass for the first goal and then jumped like a disabled schoolgirl for the second.

    To dire is Dier.

Or he passed the ball 30 yards to a player who stood still waiting for it... and still lost it

    I disagree
I’d expect a doable footballer to recognise that he may get tackled and to move
I don’t rate mount that highly big it’s basics to have an awareness of those around them

    still early days for him.
last night was muddled because we were so lopped sided. needed some more from the right side to open the pitch up! Everything was bunched to the left!

    ??
The ball passed to the side of Dier in the wall and right over the head of Mings.
If Mings had jumped, he'd have got it full in the face.

As long as he is good for us I couldn't care less about the nations league. I hope he doesn't play the next game.

Bunched but not very effective then
Don’t forget we didn’t have a left back for 60 minutes
