OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Leicester *** 22/08/2015 3pm

5th

That's the position that Kane, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela and Townsend fired us to last season. And we've added Nigel and Pritchard to that mix, while the teams beneath us have generally weakened (Liverpool and Soton).

Like your optimism but I think we will see whats what this year. For example, clubs like Everton, Swansea, Soton and Liverpool are superior on paper . Maybe the young players will over perform again, we will get late wins/scrappy wins and have a great season - I just think we are treading on very thin ice.

Anyway lets hope we get those 3 vital players in, Poch pulls a couple of wins out the bag in Aug, the new signings settle, the young players progress and we can crack virtual champagne out come May

Back to this game - was going to go but gave my ticket to a friend. Think its a wise decision.

If I was a neutral betting man, i would have money on Leicester because I think they look exciting and a mix of in form and new players. They will come at us and we will struggle to hit them on the break with our current options. If they get an early goal then it's curtains for us.

Eitherway its now 3 games in and our squad is really short still - its inevitable we will lose and the pressure will mount. It's laughable that it has come to this, but its almost written in the stars!

What, to rack the loyalty points up so all is nice and cosy for when the good times hit. #thick and thin

nailed on win now. 3-2.

:):p

I'm sticking my neck here out on this one...don't forget..
you heard it here first!

Pritchard...is like Berbatov..Modric and Bale ..all rolled into One...

so when ever he plays...watch this little mystro.go............................

Coys....................................

We can't get top 4 within the first ten games or so but we can certainly lose it. I don't expect us to finish top 4 but I'd like us to be within touching distance at least. 5 dropped points already (Maybe 5 is a bit harsh so 2) another 2/3 dropped tomorrow will hurt us.

Gonna be tough, Leicester are full of confidence and the home supporters will think they can beat us. I'm heading up courtesy of a free ticket from a pal within the club gonna be sitting in a box although not sure I'll enjoy mingling with the prawn sandwich phalanx.

Leicester City 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Walker (OG) 54 Kane 11
Eriksen 24

Are we just ignoring the fact we bought a forward a few days ago?

Poch came out and said that N'Jie could 'play like a striker', I think. He also mentioned Lamela and Chadli as being other players who could 'play like a striker' as well. Given that assessment, I don't really think N'Jie was brought in as a CF.

Lamela can't "play like an inverted winger" let alone like a striker.

I should hope he can play like a striker considering that's where he mostly played for Lyon (according to whoscored) albeit alongside a partner - anyway the point is it's another option off the bench to replace Kane with which is one more option than we had a week ago

I know he is an experienced football manager and I am just a penpusher, but I don't see what Poch has seen to think either of those can play as a striker

Chadli's big and scores goals, so I could perhaps envision him in that role. Lamela, though.....I'm probably an even lower-ranking penpusher than you are, but I agree with you. :)

True, but I don't think he's a like for like replacement, or that he'll be used up front much. I'm willing to wager that he'll be used out on the right more than up front: Chadli's likely to continue being a rotation option for Kane, even more so if Berahino arrives and (as I suspect might be the case) ends up taking that LWF slot.

Time for the old Jenas 'what does he do?' to be brought out of retirement, d'you think? :p

For all of his faults, at least JJ chipped in with his fair share of goals, especially v Arsenal

I agree @DubaiSpur and once the window closes I would imagine he'll be our 3rd choice for the CF position, but until we bring in someone in front of him he's Kane's backup (imv)
