Could not hear what he was saying but he is pretty good with his opinions and being a miserable negatvie cnut myself I tend to agree with the critics when they complain about us. But as Roy Keane said Fergie said about us " It's only Tottenham"

I think what we need is someone like Keane or nEVILLE in our team, not sure if youth players are even produced like this any more as I was able to read some of the literature that players get coached with at youth level. I read what they read and are taught on their day release from college and the under 14's and 15's at an elite level club have to do modules in respect and showing respect for their team mates and coaches.

Not one to ever agree with David Bentley but I do think from this over coaching and perhaps liberal teaching I do wonder if we will lose the firebrand player from the game or whether they will still come through.

I know a lot of the youth players are quite ****y and up themselves but a lot do not have that fear factor where they would shout out a team mate who was not doing well. I wonder where that will come from in the future.

Thanks. Can't say I can disagree with that. I can't think of a time since Venables when that wasn't the case.

That was quite mild. Danter and Quinn on TalkSport had a field day with Spurs today, really went to town on us

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes that Tottenham Hotspur are a mentally weak team and stated his belief that current boss Mauricio Pochettino may need three seasons to change the culture at the club.

Pochettino impressed with Southampton last term, but has struggled at White Hart Lane so far in the current campaign and Spurs slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United yesterday.

Tottenham were leading 1-0 when Newcastle scored from the kick-off in the second half, taking advantage of a Spurs side which had gone to sleep to equalise. They then scored again to secure all three points and inflict on Spurs a hammer blow.

Neville believes Spurs' defending was nothing less than appalling, telling Sky Sports' Monday Night Football: "When I think of Pochettino at Southampton, a team that always seemed ready, they were always alert. You never thought you could catch them out, certainly not with what I'd call basic tactics like this [Newcastle move].

"And yet when you talk about typical Tottenham, he's got to affect the culture at that football club and it runs right the way through it.

"This is a coach who had a bright team, an alert team last season. He's got to affect the culture at this football club."

Neville, who regularly came face to face with Tottenham during his time at Manchester United, believes the White Hart Lane outfit have long been weak mentally and have often paid for it. And there is no quick fix.

"It's [the defending against Newcastle] what I think of Tottenham historically, never ready, weak, weak up here [in the head], and they have to change that culture.

"I think Pochettino needs to be given two or three years to run amok through that club to get rid of that type of attitude", the former defender added.

Why do people constantly cream themselves about Poch's Southampton. They really weren't all that. They were good, but some talk like they were the Barca of the English south coast.

Jeez even Gerry Francis had a decentish season with QPR many moons ago. It can happen. Oh, he managed to get the Spurs job on the back of it ))))

    ...here
Bentaleb has a bit about him. He's young but he seems to have a steeley side to him and doesn't mind doing the pointy shouty thing to his team mates. He could be one player in the right mould.

I was watching Neville dissect this goal with his giant ipad and he pointed out about five or six Spurs players that were not switched on at the kick off. Unbelievable really, and then he highlighted that ball over the fullback from kickoff is something that Newcastle have tried a bunch of times but it never came off before, until now that is.

I don't see Gary Neville creaming himself over Poch's Southampton. He says that they were

"a team that always seemed ready, they were always alert. You never thought you could catch them out, certainly not with what I'd call basic tactics like this"

which is true of last season. They had a very good year and were rarely caught out.

I thought Southampton looked quite sloppy against us last season.....if we had lost those two games like they did Gary Neville would have had a lot to say

Usual bull**** ... Harry's team that tore up the CL were mentally weak? why did virtually the same United squad that won the PL suddenly become whipping boys under Moyes?

This is a pundit that like many of us, can't articulate why the team - team match up against Newcastle didn't produce the right result. And instead of something with intelligence around our setup/width, lack of protection for Dier (makeshift FB) and **** movement/finishing from Ade and poor/no reaction from Poch to Pardew's subs .. he comes up with = they have no bottle ..

Listen, you want to know why we lost

    - Ade spends half the ****ing game wide, so provides no threat/option
    - Lamela/Chadli without Rose/Walker (even Naughton) as FBs pushing forward makes us too ****ing narrow and we can have 90% possession with no threat because the opposition back line doesn't get stretched
    - Lamela/Ade/Capoue had **** games and were left on for way too ****ing long
    - Dier was targeted by Pardew's subs, we didn't react and struggled down that side all game
    - Rose was causing trouble, but without bringing Kane & Soldado on, there was no one to feed

    Nothing to do with bottle,
    - more a side not moving the ball quickly/intelligently enough to put the other team under sustained pressure (regardless of the possession %)
    - Stupid individual mistake by young player holding on in another position
    - A front line that when they get the chances are not converting
    - A manager asleep at the wheel re reactions to the actual game

There must be some alternative universe where are players have a tigerish personality.

No problems with what Neville said, but its old news!

Pretty much the same thing that they were saying on Match of the Day 2 last night, when they showed Dier running onto the pitch as the referee was about to blow the whistle for the 2nd half. Just for good measure, Vertonghen was strolling over to have a chat with Rose leaving Kaboul trying to cover the whole middle of the pitch which meant he was too far away from Eric to be able to help him out when Ameobi was bearing down on goal #-o

All rather reminiscent of the goal we conceded to Navas, 14 seconds after kick off, at the Etihad last season...

We'll see how we react on Sunday against a Villa team who are also at rock bottom. They've lost five in a row without scoring a goal.

Are there any Villa players making their début? Haven't scored in the last two years or so? Benteke to roar back to form?

Raziel what are you on about?

For years, since I've been a fan (1995) for sure, we have been one of the World's biggest bottlers. In fact since 1991 we have played 6 FA Cup Semi Finals, our record in those matches:

    P6 W0 L6 D0 F3 A16

    Says it all.

We have had a f@cking disease running right through this club for the past 20 years, regardless of defensive mistakes and poor performances, our weak meteorology needs to be iradicated, on the pitch not with fancy psychology as AVB tried.

I don't play anymore, but when I did (as a keeper) the ref would always check that me and my opposite number that we were ready, which we obviously wouldn't raise our hands to until we'd checked the other 10 were switched on

do they do that in real football as well?
