Yep, outmuscled by Babbel and thrown like a ragdoll by Mitrovic. Becoming a theme after Rondon and Deeney. Maybe his muscles are just implants and filler?

As others have said he was a bit iffy in the first half but got better as the game went on and impressed at the end. However at 22 years of age he will have games like this but ( imo) he is going to be a massive player for us.

Considering he has hardly played for ages is it any surprise?

Exactly. Looks like I'm in the minority who actually thought he adjusted well and had a good game. Mitrovic was up for it and can be a real handful and with the Babbel one, he just lost his balance imo.

Yeah, I thought he started very badly but grew into the game and handled Mitrovic well by the end. Almost the exact opposite of the Watford game where he looked great for 60 mins and like Gary Doherty for the last 30.

I suppose these are the inconsistencies you'll get with a centre back of his age.

    I agree.
He may not be the best player around but Mitrovic on his day is a handful for any CB, let alone a 22 kid who is still developing at this level.

Dont think he is having a good season, is it second season blues do we think.

The is a player in there, think we are going to have to wait for him to mature.

Seems to have lost a lot of pace and strength compared to last season, weird conditioning plan maybe?

Regarding him being bullied, he does travel at some pace to get back and it is alot easier pushing someone off the ball at pace than it is if they have 2 feet planted.

I think hes been in and out of the side and hasnt yet found his stride.

    Not unreasonable, IMO.

Most young players have a difficult second season. Although Alli had a difficult third season (last season) instead. Sanchez is properly class though, so I have no doubt he'll be fantastic again soon

Physically he can be a beast.

One thing he needs to learn is how to use that physicality to his advantage. Body positioning, weight on the correct foot, anticipation of the opponent's actions etc.

He has been shown up many a time in this department because the opponent (mainly forwards) have learnt these things for their own game, and that's caught him off guard. Perhaps ererdevise players never had that (as much).?

We all thought he was a beast......but in this league you need to be a clever beast.

Not worried about this guy .. yes he has a lot of learning to do (what CB doesn't at his age), but the potential is obvious.

Keep learning from Jan & Toby, adapt to the PL, deal with being targeted, he'll be better for it.

All you have to do is compare him with every CB we have had between King/Woodgate and now (minus Jan/Toby obviously) and see how good he is.

Very important for us to have him for years before Toby and Verts go.

Toby is off in a few months, then Sanchez and Foyth will need to step up a level, unless.... wait for it... we buy a superstar!!!! Hee heeeee!!!
